Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.
Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
Track the compilation of CIP costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
Calculate and analyze depreciation for all fixed assets.
Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
Calculate asset retirement obligations for those fixed assets to which AROs are applicable.
Review and process impairment calculations for tangible and intangible assets.
Analyze and record decommissioning of assets.
Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
Review GAAP to Tax reconciliations and related fixed asset reporting.
Prepare fixed assets roll-forward.
Analyze and process appropriate reclassifications of capital and operating expenditures.
Assist in development and implementation of streamlined fixed asset processes.
Ensure compliance with all SBA policies and procedures.
Assist with Sarbanes Oxley documentation and testing requirements.
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field of study.
5+ years of corporate accounting experience specializing in fixed assets.
Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
Experience with Great Plains, Wennsoft and Hyperion Financial Management or comparable software preferred.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to tailor content to the level and experience of the audience.
Ability to use multiple channels or means to communicate important messages (i.e. memos, meetings, electronic mail).
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, profit margins, area and volume.
Ability to utilize mathematical formulas: to add, subtract, multiply and divide and to calculate decimals and percentages.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, probability and statistical inference.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
