Job Purpose

This role is vital in ensuring the integrity of the internal and external financial reporting process for the Americas and its components. Major responsibilities include analyzing, reconciling, and preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare and record monthly journal entries in various ERP and consolidation systems.

  • Reconcile and analyze account balances. Understand transaction flow and estimate rationale.

  • Perform and/or support ad hoc requests and special projects as assigned. Ability to extract, organize, analyze, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions with the use of various IT systems (i.e., local ERP systems including SAP, consolidation systems, data warehouses, etc.) is critical.

  • Contribute to the coordination and completion of the monthly close process.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to deliver high caliber output for assigned tasks within established timelines.

  • Support internal and external audit efforts.

  • Partner with relevant business teams to determine proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and monitor compliance with these principles and company procedures.

  • Takes responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment by following safety procedures, using personal protective equipment as appropriate, being aware of surroundings, and correcting or reporting potential safety hazards.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts with the team and promote healthy, respectful communications.

  • Other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Accounting

  • Competent with Microsoft Office

  • 3 years of relevant accounting, auditing, or business analysis experience

  • Knowledge of US GAAP

  • Understanding of accounting practices (i.e., close cycle) and reporting requirements

  • Ability to communicate (orally and written) in a professional manner when dealing with employees and management

  • Team player

  • Able to work independently

  • Detail oriented

  • Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office products, SAP and other ERPs)

General Job Requirements

  • This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.

Job Purpose This position will be a key contributor for the development of the EnerSys energy storage system analytics for optimal scheduling of energy storage systems. This analytics engineering position will report to the Energy Storage Systems (ESS) Integration Manager. The successful candidate will have knowledge of and hands-on experience with artificial intelligence algorithm development and implementation, statistical analysis and building physics based and statistical models. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Predictive Analytics Engineer filling this position will be required to demonstrate detailed and in depth technical knowledge and expertise in the following disciplines: * Artificial intelligence techniques (fuzzy logic, neural networks etc…) * Experience developing physics based models * Experience developing statistical models * Strong coding skills in Python * Experience querying data sets from relational databases such as Postgres * Experience using revision control and agile project management tools such as Git and Jira * Experience implementing and testing algorithms in a laboratory environment with actual hardware * Experience with developing algorithms for optimizing energy storage or renewable energy resources is desirable * Experience with the electric utility market in the U.S. and a general understanding of rate structures is desirable * Some exposure to battery energy storage and energy storage systems is desirable * Familiarity with unit testing of software Qualifications * Masters Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent degree * 5+ years' experience developing physics based and black box models * 5+ years' experience with artificial intelligence techniques * 5+ years' experience coding in Python * Experience writing queries for relational databases such as Postgres * Experience working in a laboratory environment with actual hardware * Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create strong working relationships with cross-functional teams General Job Requirements * This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands. * Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
