We are seeking a Staff Accountant II for Dollywood Parks & Resorts who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while caring deeply about our brand.

The right Staff Accountant checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

The Staff Accountant will provide positive support for Finance Team and assigned divisions in a professional and competent manner using established policies, procedures and expectations; provide specific accounting advice for the team to perform at a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, modify, and document record-keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology

  • Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations, including inter-company accounts, and the clearing of the reconciling items.

  • Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.

  • Maintain and examine the records of government agencies

  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using current computer technology

  • Assist Finance staff with special projects; conduct various financial analyses, and prepare special request management reports

  • Preparation of year-end analyses and schedules for audit purposes

  • Calculate, prepare, and issue account statements according to established procedures

  • As assigned, review work of other staff, such as Accounts Payable records, to verify that policies and procedures have been followed

  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and provide support as needed.

  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.

Education and Experience Required

  • College Graduate with BS in Accounting with minimum 2 years experience

  • Extensive knowledge of spreadsheet preparation utilizing Microsoft Excel

  • Working days/week-ends/holidays/evenings may be required

  • Ability to learn and implement General Ledger software applications

  • 10 key by touch

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience working for the same or larger size company preferred

  • Experience in amusement, retail or food industry a plus

  • Able to continuously work in a confined space, in close quarters without distracting coworkers

  • Able to work unsupervised

  • Able to compile data and prepare financial reports accurately and timely

  • Able to learn various types of financial software

  • Able to learn and operate all office equipment to perform job duties

  • Able to thoroughly understand internal controls as specified in Company Procedures

  • Must have organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, delegate work duties and ensure shift duties are completed within budget hours

  • Able to keep work area neat and clean at all times

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to be assertive when necessary to accomplish company goals

  • Able to perform other duties as required
