Staff Accountant I

Pendo is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance Team. In this role, you will partner with the Manager, Corporate Accounting to build the accounting backbone for a high-growth software company backed by top institutional VCs. This is a highly visible position and a good opportunity to help build out the finance function as the Company continues to grow.

Responsibilities (what you'll do):

• Administer the travel and expense (T&E) platform, including the review of expenses against Pendo's corporate policies and answering employee T&E questions

• Facilitate the company purchase card / credit card program

• Reconcile daily incoming customer cash and outgoing accounts payable payments

• Play an active role in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and completing balance sheet reconciliations for a global company

• Prepare and analyze reporting for month end procedures

• Comply with internal controls and maintain process documentation

• Support audit requests including reconciliations and pulling details for support

• Ad hoc duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (what you have):

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field

• 1-2 years of experience in Accounting

• Experience in account reconciliations

• Software Knowledge: Excel and Google Sheets

• Understanding of basic month end close procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally across departments and locations

• Experience facilitating a travel and expense program

• Hard worker and driven with the ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to problem solve

• Tech savvy with software knowledge of T&E platforms (Navan a plus), online banking platforms (JP Morgan a plus), reconciliation tools (FloQast a plus), and financial accounting systems (Workday a plus)

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in: Raleigh, NC is $63,300 - $73,000 USD.

Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
