ROLE:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain the records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities as assigned.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

  • Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future P&L impacts.

  • Records and maintains accurate records of monthly bank activity for several accounts.

  • Review expense coding to ensure costs get entered accurately into the general ledger system and prepare any necessary adjustments.

  • Reports organization's finances to management, and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

  • Respond to financial inquiries of field/operations management providing requested information.

  • Continuously identify and recommend process improvements.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned to support the goals of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards and regulations.

  • Solid analytical and accounting skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to learn new tasks and business functions.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of accounting software systems, such as MAS 500.

  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, or similar programs.

  • Demonstrate sound business judgment and integrity.

EDUCATION|EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. Degree Accounting preferred.

  • Minimum two years or more accounting experience required, preferably in a private company environment.

Pay Rate: $60,000-65,000
