The Staff Accountant in Healthfirst's Finance department is primarily responsible for preparing monthly journal entries for all Revenue and Expenses. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for reconciling all accounts related to revenue and expense items on a monthly basis as part of the monthly financial close.
Ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and work with other stakeholders within Finance such as the (EMR) team, Actuarial and Accounts Payable to ensure accounts are maintained accurately and so that they balance each month and are ready for audit and review by leadership
Compile the data necessary to identify and reconcile variances in a timely matter
Reconcile general ledger data to EMR data on a monthly basis to ensure consistency in reporting
Create monthly analysis for respective LOB to summarize the general ledger activity for the month and highlight the key changes including support to justify variance between Actual and Budget
Record all expense/revenue journal entries on a monthly basis
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Proficiency in Excel - i.e., pivot tables and v-lookups
Experience in performing financial reconciliation of reported data to the company general ledger.
Experience in managing projects across multiple departments
Experienced in using General Ledger Financial or Accounting software (PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Great Plains, Peachtree)
Experience with using Workday
Experience in conducting analysis during the year end audits and other internal and external audits
