Staff Accountant

Our client, a high-end commercial real estate development company, specializing in creating signature buildings for retailers and restauranteurs, is searching for an experience Staff Accountant to join their team. This client is known to provide a casual work environment, great culture, and competitive compensation.

You will be responsible for preparing and posting journal entries, managing month-end close duties, reconciling balance sheets, and handling other financial reporting tasks. This role requires a tech savvy, proactive, and detail-oriented individual who has the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000

Location: Greensboro, NC - 100% on site

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including adjusting and accrual entries, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Manage month-end close duties by preparing and reviewing account reconciliations.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations by identifying and resolving discrepancies.

• Prepare sales tax returns and assist with sales tax compliance, ensuring accurate filing and timely payments.

• Monitor and maintain accounting records, including fixed assets, prepaids, and other accounts.

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process, providing data analysis and support.

• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably within the commercial real estate industry.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and MS Excel

• Familiarity with sales tax regulations and compliance is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail, tech savvy, proactive.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
