This position performs the core financial processes and interacts with other functional areas of the Auction to ensure the accuracy of the key Accounting function including financial statement preparation and review, revenue posting, and purchasing activities. This position also supports the Controller or Assistant Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements; Provide insight and key takeaways for the Controller.

  • Support the monthly financial close process by processing the necessary journal entries and performing the required variance analysis. Ensure accuracy and timelines with adherence to the 3 day month-end deadline.

  • Build strong relationships with other areas of the auction and partner with areas such as Operations, Front Office, Commercial, Reconditioning, Collections and Other Administrative functions.

  • Ensure that internal and external customers as well as suppliers are provided with timely and accurate information.

  • Review and approve centralized reconciliations performed in Blackline.

  • Work with Posting & Procurement (P&P) to ensure charges are posted (revenue) and all purchasing expenses are accrued properly.

  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments and charges are processed timely and kept current.

  • Review and prepare inter-company transactions with corporate office or with other auction entities as necessary.

  • Facilitate correct processing of arbitrations / inherited units.

  • Interact with Shared Service Center; regarding adjustments, waived fees, bad debt, split payments, etc.

  • Ensure all auction accounting procedures, records, and reports conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Prepare Ad Hoc Analyses and complete projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

  • 3-5 years of Accounting/Finance experience.

  • Experience in the automobile or Auction industry desirable.

  • Strong communication and interaction skills required.

  • Effective accounting and organizational skills required.

  • Excellent computer and software knowledge essential, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, with Oracle, Hyperion, Blackline and AS400 preferred.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Job Description Job Summary: Cost accounting for multiple detection plants and government billing/accounting for projects. Detailed Descrption: * Prepare and Maintain cost data for products on SAP multi level Bill Of Materials with Material and Labor on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis. * Standard and Extended warranty reconciliation and analysis. * Work closely with Purchasing to reconcile Price Variances and book entries as required. * Work closely with Operations and Service departments to reconcile and explain various operating variances and book adjusting entries as required. * Team up with Inventory Management for bi-annual physical and reconcile to the books. * Support operations on management of inventory. * Work on gross margin analysis and populate various monthly quarterly and yearly files. * Responsible to work with Internal and External auditors for quarterly and annual auditor's review of schedules prepared and accounts monitored by the cost department. * Responsibility includes preparing various financial reports for management in Excel and BPC financial software on a monthly basis. * Analyze Variances on weekly basis. * Audit the cycle count on a monthly basis and report the results to management. * Prepare reports on Excess and Obsolete inventory on a quarterly basis and analyze the data for accuracy. * Work with engineering to support all R&D and Paid R&D projects and prepare monthly project costing analysis. * Perform special projects as required. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. * Must have a minimum of 5-10 years of cost accounting experience. Required to meet all financial deadlines. * Must have experience working with Standard and Actual costing * Must have good experience with working knowledge of Excel, Pivot tables, financial formulas in Excel (including Macros). * Experience in high tech working with manufacturing cost data and engineering projects. . * Must have experience working with all levels of management. * SAP experience preferred. * Working with a totally integrated ERP system is a requirement. * US Citizenship Required FLIR and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
