Position Overview

As a Contract, Staff Accountant you will support month, quarterly and year-end close processes for assigned entities and will report directly to the Manager, Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries with adequate supporting documentation.

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for assigned entities.

  • Complete month end close procedures for assigned entities.

  • Perform monthly and quarterly close reconciliations by updating an electronic workbook for assigned entities.

  • Assist with annual audit work papers, providing detail when requested by external auditors.

  • Revalue, translate and consolidate foreign currency transactions.

  • Perform other corporate accounting duties as assigned.

  • Propose solutions when efficiencies could be obtained.

  • Show ownership of assigned entities and tasks.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

  • 0-2 years of accounting experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills able to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Responsible, dependable and possessing an exceptional work ethic.

  • Existing understanding and knowledge of GAAP is required.

  • Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong coordination / organization skills with attentiveness to timelines.

  • Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly and annual department driven deadlines.

  • Demonstrate teamwork at all times.
