Staff Accountant

SUMMARY

Responsible for various accounting functions necessary to prepare financial statements and numerous other financial reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare financial statements, summary of property additions, batch status reports, trial balances, etc.

• Review all G/L batch information, prepare G/L batches, edit and post G/L entries from subsystems such as collection reports, subscriber billings, misc. billing, external carrier invoicing etc., and calculate depreciation and taxes.

• Research of G/L entries, inventory records, accounts payable invoices, CPR records and affiliate transactions to ensure proper reporting in financial statements.

• Reconcile company bank statements and prepare monthly treasurer's reports.

• Review and process monthly activity on jobs and projects and prepare reports detailing project activity.

• Prepare internal and external AR billings to include cost and sales contracts, as well as prepare a detailed AR aging by category.

• Process daily inventory transactions and review inventory records.

• Prepare PSC or other agency filings as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• 4 year Accounting degree or equivalent regulatory work experience

• 2 or more years accounting experience in progressive accounting environments

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel

• Able to multi-task

• Able to suggest improvements and be capable of independent decision-making when appropriate

• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs., stoop, kneel, and crouch occasionally

• Must be able to provide support to other staff accountants as needed.
