We are looking for an energetic self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills who can handle a wide variety of responsibilities while seamlessly integrating as a contributing member of a highly motivated team of accountants.
Assisting the accounts payable team leader with the day-to-day processing of invoices, from start to finish
Gathering and imaging invoices, coding and entering data in the Great Plains accounting system, and producing checks
Processing time and expense reports
Answering accounts payable inquiries
Cash management assistance:
Monitoring bank balances via an online interface; recording activity to the general ledger on a daily basis
Preparing daily bank deposits using a remote scanner
Recording journal entries on a daily basis for all deposits, electronic funds transfer activity, wire transfers, interbank transfers, and other banking activity
Month-end close assistance:
Reconciling several bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, as assigned
Performing intercompany and prepaid expense accounting
Taking on additional responsibilities, as time goes on
Conducting various expense account analyses
Updating various Excel-based worksheets monthly
Providing audit support, as needed
Cross-training in various other accounting functions, as requested
A degree in accounting
Some experience in an accounting role
Experience with Great Plains accounting software and/or PaperSave would be helpful (not required)
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; pivot table experience would be helpful
Friendly, upbeat personality
A motivated self-starter who is comfortable working independently and with colleagues at all levels
