Staff Accountant

What We Need

Corpay^ is seeking to Corporate Staff Accountant to join our centralized accounting team. As a key member of the finance and accounting team, the successful candidate will participate in responsibilities of the company's Corporate Accounting Department and assist with close responsibilities with our global subsidiaries as well as work on key initiatives relating to critical processes. The ideal candidate should be motivated, a self-starter, detailed-oriented, strong in accounting concepts have a willingness to learn and be a team player.

How We Work

As a Staff Accountant you will be expected to work in our Brentwood, TN office 4 days of the week. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

  • Assigned workspace in Brentwood, TN office

  • Company-issued equipment + remote access

  • Monthly home internet stipend

Role Responsibilities

  • Participate in month-end close activities, including timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, inter-company elimination process, accruals, support financial statement close package and account reconciliations

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close

  • Support the timely reporting of monthly financial submissions from our global accounting teams including preparation, review, reconciliation and journal entries relating to submission of local trial balances

  • Assist with quarterly 10Q/10K reporting deliverables and other management reporting as needed

  • Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy.

  • Develop/enhance, implement and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business.

  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit

  • Partner with and liaison with other departments on resolving month-end close questions and while working on strategic initiatives

  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent communication interpersonal skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and self-motivated

  • Ability to coordinate and work with business leaders in multiple locations

  • Ability to meet deadlines timely accurately in a high pace environment

  • Must be a hands-on, detail-oriented individual

  • The right person will be ambitious and flexible who wants to learn and grow professionally

  • Advanced computer skills for Excel

Ideal Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 0 to 1 years of experience in accounting roles
