Position Purpose The Staff Accountant is heavily involved with the day to day accounting/bookkeeping functions for the Bank as well as the Holding Company and other related entities.

The Staff Accountant will provide assistance with month end, quarter end and year end close processes as necessary. This includes monthly review, reconciliation preparation, and analytical research of general ledger accounts. This position is involved in certain aspects of recurring and special projects.

Position Responsibilities Perform bookkeeping and other accounting functions for the Capital Bank and the other related companies including preparing monthly general ledger account reconciliations in a timely manner. Following up on all reconciling items to ensure they are resolved within 30 days. Communicate any recurring reconciling issues or unusual reconciling items to the Assistant Controller.

Process principal and interest payments on the Bond Portfolio Provides back-up support for the following duties: daily reconciliation of Federal Reserve Account, including problem resolution; cash management of Fed Funds balances at correspondent banks; monitors daylight overdraft position at the Federal Reserve. Assists with the Accounts Payable process up to and including being a back-up. Work with the Assistant Controller to ensure all Accounting policies and procedures are updated and current on at least an annual basis Assist in the preparation of schedules/information for internal and external auditors Minimum Education & Experience Previous accounting experience with a basic understanding of financial statement presentation Prior experience within the banking for financial services industry is a plus Technical Knowledge and Skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multitask and perform in a deadline driven environment. General understanding of accounting principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Working Arrangements This is a hybrid role expected to work in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. You will be able to work remotely on Wednesday. Compensation: Base Salary Range: $28.70 - $40.18 hourly.

Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description. Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.
