Bevi is a Series C startup that has raised over $60 million to bring customizable, healthy hydration to offices and facilities across the US and Canada. Founded in 2013, our co-founders set out to out-design bottled water. With offices now in Boston, New York, and San Francisco, we continue to grow our healthy flavor offerings and constantly strive to bring the next level of customization to the Bevi hydration experience.

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to own the accounts payable cycle and some general ledger functions. The ideal candidate has previously worked in the transactional cycles of a start-up software (or hardware) company. The Staff Accountant will be an integral and critical member of our 5-person Finance team, and will report directly to the Controller.

What you will do

  • Own the processing and payment of all vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements
  • Ensure customer and distributor payments are properly applied to their accounts
  • Assist with processing entries and preparing monthly reconciliations for prepaids and accruals
  • Operate as an individual contributor within the finance team, and collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and teams within Bevi

Requirements (must haves)

  • 2 - 5 years of experience, preferably in a start-up
  • Solution-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, scaling saas/software/hardware environment
  • Extreme integrity around timelines and deliverables
  • Takes pride in their work - produces accurate and well formatted deliverables

Requirements (nice to have)

  • Has previously owned the and accounts payable functions for at least two years
  • Experience with excel, MineralTree, Expensify and netsuite
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Responsibilities The Staff Accountant will report to the Senior Accountant and will assist the Accounting Manager and the Financial Controller with special projects. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and is a person who enjoys new challenges. The successful candidate will possess the ability and desire to grow and assume additional responsibilities as the company grows. This position will include diverse responsibilities including, GL account reconciliations, accounts receivable, monthly accruals and general journals, and special projects as assigned. Success in this position will require the ability to independently develop expertise in new areas (often the result of business growth) and then implement processes and/or procedures to satisfy those business needs. Staff Accountant positions at PCG are designed to provide a wide range of experience for each individual. Specific Responsibilities: Staff Accountant * On a monthly basis, reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and other reconciliations as needed. * Provide general ledger and reporting assistance to financial staff of subsidiary companies. * Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommend accounting process improvements. * Input billings into accounting software. * Post daily lockbox deposits and ACH payments, research and reconcile un-posted payments. * Prepare weekly and monthly reports to management. * Ensure revenue recognition is consistent with GAAP and PCG policy. * Coordinate project billings with project managers. * Responsibilities may change as the department and PCG grow and as deemed necessary by management. Qualifications Required Skills: * Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. * Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel. * Effective ability to prioritize and manage multiple activity streams. * Must have the ability to manage task load with frequent interruptions. * Must always maintain attention to detail. * Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills. * Possess discretion to work with confidential information. Required Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field 0-2 years of accounting experience. Experience working with accounting software.
