This accounting firm is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform a wide variety of diversified accounting and tax assignments. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Responsibilities:
Perform diversified accounting and tax assignments under the direction of senior, supervisor, manager, and/or partner
Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards
Meet time constraints, client and tax compliance deadlines
Prepare work papers and perform various procedures established under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting (OCBOA) to verify accuracy and validity of clients financial matters
Prepare basic to more complicated personal and corporate tax returns
Contribute to the client service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround and attentive service to clients and staff
Effectively communicate with clients to receive information necessary to complete the engagements with a minimum of disruption to clients
Perform all other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting
Either holds a current and valid Certified Public Accountants License, or is working towards obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be a team player motivated to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be client focused and able to effectively manage multiple tasks

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-11T00:00 Current Opportunity Senior Property Accountant Location: Beachwood, Ohio Department: Property Reporting Date Open: 10/5/2018 POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Property Accountant prepares accounting analysis of actual, reforecast and budget data for distribution to management and outside parties for assigned properties, including analysis of related general ledger accounts. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Investigates, verifies and reconciles all general ledger accounts on assigned property trial balances with subledgers and/or appropriate support schedules 2. Monitors property activity, including closed/sold sites, relocation/remodels and new construction 3. Coordinates accounting processing, verifying that it is properly accounted for in accordance with established guidelines. Researches performance issues or unreasonable discrepancies and notifies appropriate departments 4. Participates in the annual budget preparation process by analyzing trends and projecting figures for key properties in assigned region 5. Prepares and analyzes monthly variance reports to show actual/reforecast versus budgeted figures for management review 6. Reviews property activity and financial statements and prepares re-forecasted figures 7. Assists in quarterly and year-end audit processes. Prepares and analyzes financial statements in accordance with GAAP for entities that require an audit 8. Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks 9. Assists other accounting departments with the completion of special projects ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting with three plus years of business accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics 1. Developed knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles 2. Knowledge of commercial real estate 3. Ability to read and interpret accounting reports, write reports, business correspondence 4. High degree of initiative and independent judgment 5. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities 6. Ability to communicate with all levels 7. Effective interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills 8. Strong attention to detail; organized 9. Knowledge of budgeting and expense control 10. Work well under pressure, meeting deadlines consistently 11. Computer skills; word processing and spreadsheet software capabilities Certifications, Licenses, Registrations None PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CPA certification or currently studying for CPA exam. Previous property accounting experience in a real estate environment is a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Nature of work requires an ability to analyze, communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, and operate standard business office equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS Work performed in a general office environment. May require availability for extended hours during peak periods.
