Staff Accountant

Albion College invites applications for the Staff Accountant position. The Staff Accountant has broad responsibilities in the financial accounting and reporting for the College.

While working as a team within the College Business Office the incumbent will conduct general accounting duties for the College and its subsidiary entities. Assisting in the administration of financial and accounting systems, the preparation of financial statements in compliance with the generally accepted accounting principles, institutional policies and government regulations and statutes. Responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems.

Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Must be able to provide customer friendly service to both internal and external customers of the institution. This position will actively promote diversity, belonging and equity through critical and compassionate communication and strategic outreach efforts to various students, faculty and staff (e.g., historically under-represented, first-generation, undocumented and DACA students, LGBTQ students).

Employment Status: At-Will

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or other related field.

• One or more years accounting experience in a business, higher education, or public accounting environment (preferred).
