Our client, a high-end Fashion company located in Northern New Jersey, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In this newly created Staff Accountant role, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation.

As the Staff Accountant, you will report directly to the Controller and you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will also have the opportunity to assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Additionally, you will participate in SOX compliance, interact with external auditors for quarterly review and annual audits.

This position is a great opportunity to get involved with producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections and budgets. Responsibilities:
? Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations including cash, prepaid expense and payroll ? Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management ? Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process ? Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation and reconciliation ? Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Requirements

Qualifications: ? BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting or Finance preferred ? At least 2 years of Accounting experience ? Strong proficiency in Excel ? Experience with SAP, Oracle or NetSuite a plus ? Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritize tasks

With primary operations located in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. Crane ChemPharma & Energy is a $700 Million revenue Division (within Crane Corporation's Fluid Handling segment) designs and manufactures a variety of high performance products including: highly engineered check valves, sleeved plug valves, lined valves, process ball valves, high performance butterfly valves, bellows sealed globe valves, aseptic and industrial diaphragm valves, multi/quarter-turn valves, actuation, sight glasses, lined pipe, fittings and hoses, and air operated diaphragm and peristaltic pumps. The Senior Accountant is a key business partner to the Site Controller, Saddle Brook, New Jersey. This role will also have significant exposure to the Executive Management Team for Westlock Control. The Senior Accountant will assist with the development of Westlock Control's annual operating plan, monthly forecasts, product costings, variance analyses and the preparation of monthly financial statements. In this role, the Senior Accountant must be agile and able to seamlessly transition between cost accounting and financial accounting. Principle Duties: * Preparation of general ledger journal entries related to: * Inventory adjustments, consumption and transfers * Intercompany transactions and postings * Monthly accruals (e.g. freight, travel & entertainment, utilities, leases, etc.) * Perform and review account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts, ensure accuracy of information and provide variance analyze. * Prepare and analyze financial statements and other internal/external financial reports. * Prepares Balance Sheet and Income Statement variance analysis to assist the management team in understanding the underlying issues impacting business performance. * Calculate Westlock Controls product costing standards and analyze monthly variances to those standards (e.g. Purchase Price Variance, Direct Labor Variance, Direct Material Variance, etc.). * Prepares and analyses requested information in support of both internal and external audit of Saddle Brook, New Jersey. * Assist the Site Controller to ensure that the financial statements and site operations are in compliance with all applicable financial compliance policies. * Lead Westlock Control's annual production cost and manufacturing budget development process. * Play a leading role in preparation of the monthly forecasting process relative to fixed and variable costs and capital projects. Essential Qualifications / Experience: * Require a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance * 5-10 years' experience as an accountant in a manufacturing organization * Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V-lookup, base analysis) * Excellent communication skills can clearly relay information in both written and verbal forms * Navigate successfully through a company's financial systems like the general ledger, sales, and inventory. * Must have ability to manage projects, work independently and communicate effectively to all areas and levels of the organization. * Excellent analytical, communication, & organization skills required * Desirable Qualifications / Experience: * 5-10 years' experience within a multi-site international manufacturing organization desired * Glovia (ERP) experience * Hyperion HFM for financial reporting Ability to adapt to the needs of the company with various ad-hoc analysis skills.
