The Financial Analysis and Accounting division of the Human Services and Public Health department is seeking a Professional Services Supervisor to manage the Social Service Information System (SSIS) Mentoring program in the role of SSIS Coordinator. The person hired into this position will be the primary contact to the State's Department of Human Services (DHS) regarding the county's use of SSIS and compliance with SSIS standards and who will also be the primary contact to service area management to communicate changes and resolve issues related to the county's use of SSIS. This position will manage a team of five people, who are responsible for communicating changes, providing support, and training staff in the use of the SSIS case management system.

Location and hours:

This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.

  • 5pm p.m. with some flexibility. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.

In this position, you will:

  • Act as the primary contact for the State's Department of Human Services (DHS) for worker related issues using the Social Service Information System (SSIS).

  • Maintain communication with Health and Human Services (HHS) Program Managers to address SSIS issues.

  • Stay current on state level changes to SSIS and apply them to the HHS business model.

  • Coordinate training materials, classes and provide training and facilitation for social workers and other staff using SSIS.

  • Advocate SSIS enhancement requests to DHS.

  • Lead and/or support short-term and long-term projects and continuous process improvement efforts aimed at SSIS implementation.

  • Coordinate with HHS Program Managers to implement best practices for case management record keeping.

  • Provide recommendations to HHS Program Managers on case management claiming opportunities.

  • Stay current on state level changes and apply them to the HHS business model.

  • Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity & inclusion.

Need to have:

  • One of the following:

  • Eight years or more of relevant professional experience in project or program management, and/or social work.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational leadership, planning, program evaluation, public health, public policy, social work, statistics, or other field appropriate to the area of assignment and four years or more of professional experience in project or program management, and/or social work.

  • Master's degree in a field listed above and three years or more of professional experience in project or program management, and/or social work.

  • Experience:

  • Supervising and/or team lead experience.

  • 4 years or more experience utilizing the SSIS case management system as a social worker, mentor or analyst.

  • Coordinating training materials, classes, and providing training and facilitation.

Knowledge of:

  • Case management from a service perspective.

Ability to:

  • Work as part of a team, with multiple levels of stakeholders within the organization and independently.
