Requisition Number: 28729 Job Title: STAFF RESEARCH ASSOCIATE I Working Title: SRA 1 Salary: $20.74 - $24.74 hourly Job Type: Limited Department Name: 2301-MICROBIOLOGY, IMMUNO & MOLECULAR GENETIC Department Website URL: Job Summary Statement: Under the general supervision of the laboratory Principal Investigator as well as members of the homology directed repair team, the SRA 1 major functions will be to evaluate targeted nuclease-mediated genome editing in primary human cells (hematopoietic cells, T cells) by performing supportive research techniques such as cell culture, DNA and RNA isolation, PCR analysis, and molecular cloning. Percentage of Time: 100 Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm Qualifications for Position

1.Demonstrated skill with tissue culture procedures for multiple cell types: both cell lines and hematopoietic stem cells.

2.Experience with preparing, running, and analyzing cell samples by flow cytometry. Experience with Diva software highly desired.

3.Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures associated with the handling and disposal of chemicals and chemical waste, and biohazards and biohazardous waste.

4.Strong organization skills to maintain detailed laboratory protocols, ordering information, and inventories of reagents.

5.Advanced molecular biology techniques. Skills in PCR, DNA and RNA isolation.

6.Strong skills in computing cell concentrations, solution preparation, and other needed mathematical calculations.

7.Excellent communication skills (written, oral) to maintain lab protocols, notebooks, and to prepare and make research presentations in lab meetings.
