Sr. Windows Embedded Software Engineer | IoT Medical Devices | Mesa, AZ (6 mos Contract-to-Perm)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with our R&D team on Class II (IoT) Internet-of-Things Medical Devices

  • Design and development of software for new products as well as enhancements to existing products

  • Work, lead, and be an individual contributor to define requirements, perform software development, test and deploy in a larger team environment where doing the right thing is most important

  • Create and develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies, either for an organization or for a major application area, to meet the business and application requirements

  • Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet business needs

  • Support documentation, final integration, testing design transfer

  • Provide core information for SRS, SDD, must be fluent in requirements language

  • Evaluate hardware and software relative to their ability to support specified requirements and by determining potential and actual bottlenecks, improve system performance through recommended changes

  • Monitor industry trends to ensure that solutions fit with best practice directions for technology

  • Follow SOPs, produce required documentation and follow process for Code review, change effect analysis, configuration management

  • Support design reviews

REQUIREMENTS

  • BSCS/MSCS or related 4-year IT, Computer Science, MIS, Software/Electrical Engineering/Applied Physics degree

  • 10+ years of OOD/OOP direct coding and development experience

  • 7 - 10+ Experience with Windows embedded operating systems and development of software using C#, C/C++, Visual Studio, RTOS

  • Develop and maintain software for medical device systems

  • Hardware device integration with software

  • UML sate diagrams and state space system design

  • Senior Windows Embedded Software Engineer C# C/C++ Visual Studio IDE RTOS Real-time Operating Systems Class II Medical Devices IEC 62304 IEC 13485 IoT Internet-of-Things WiBu Key Security embedded processor control systems GUI Graphic User Interface LabView UML state space system design*

PREFERRED (but NOT required)

  • 15 years of experience in variety of Windows, embedded processor (C/C++ RTOS), real time control, control systems

  • Class II medical device experience, IEC 62304, IEC 13485

  • Security concerns including WiBu key experience

  • GUI development skill

  • Excellent communication

  • LabView experience to expertise

  • Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics background

  • Industries: Class II Medical Devices, (IoT) Internet-of-Things, Healthcare

VIEW JOBS 5/23/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-08-21T00:00 SUMMARY The primary responsibility of this role is to participate in the development of innovative, real time embedded navigation and flight control systems software through the full software development lifecycle, including implementation of Open Systems Architecture (OSA) solutions, in a multidisciplinary avionics and aerospace environment. Relevant experience outside of the aerospace industry (e.g. automotive industry) is a plus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under minor guidance from senior technologists / engineers: * Design, code, test, and provide ongoing support for embedded systems software and simulation software to meet technological and customer requirements. * Support the development of Open Systems Architecture (OSA) solutions across legacy and emerging MDHI platforms. * Draft software integration and test plans and reports. * Collaborate across all functional disciplines, including engineering, business development, supply chain, manufacturing, production and program management team members in planning, design, development and initiative execution. * Support the development of interface definitions in conjunction with the multi-discipline design team and draft interface control documents to record and validate system performance standards and results. * Support software design reviews to ensure team progress against milestones and to maintain the highest quality level within project schedules. * Serve on projects as assigned, working with customers to meet deliverables and address and resolve technology or system issues. * Perform all engineering activities in accordance with applicable regulations and standards (e.g. FCC Software Planning documents and RTCA DO-178B/C). * Support the development, modification, and/or analysis of company specifications, instructions and operating procedures. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES * None. Qualifications SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Knowledge of C/C++, Linux, Java and object oriented design, real time operating systems and open systems architecture. * 3+ years of experience in direct software design, coding, and generation of test scripts and plans. * Have aptitude to be successful as an individual software engineer contributor. * Ability to work in a multi-disciplined Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment is a plus. * Basic understanding of avionics integration, sensor fusion, and/or algorithm development is a plus. This knowledge may come from an adjacent industry, outside of aviation and aerospace. * Experience with FAA certification standards (DO-178, DO-254) is a plus. * Direct interface with FAA local and regional offices is a plus. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's Degree (B. S.) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline. Understanding of real time embedded software systems development, including defining and documenting requirements, software design and development, programming, testing and implementation is highly desirable.
