Job Description What we're looking for: A Senior Visual Designer for the Connected Living team responsible for owning the look & feel of the new Xfinity app.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on versatile designer and leader with a mix of skills in visual design, interface design, interactive design and prototyping who will help to evolve the design language and visually push the experience forward. You live and breathe for the experience, you care deeply about the design - the details that elevate an experience and make it great, while staying laser-focused on the bigger picture. You are not afraid to think differently.
You'll work with our team to create, document, and maintain a visual aesthetic across the experience. By working collaboratively with UX Designers, Product owners, UX Researchers, Accessibility, System, and Brand teams, you will ensure our designs are intuitive, memorable, and align with the Xfinity brand and its core values. About the role:
Your day-to-day will include using the full extent of your skills towards maintaining, improving, refining, and innovating across our core experiences; from sketching and wireframing to high fidelity visual and UI design. You will be hands-on with your tactical work creating and evolving designs across the app, while closely collaborating with other teams across the organization to ensure consistency in content and execution. You will engage with engineers to ensure proper implementation of designs, support in production and documentation efforts, and present your work to key stakeholders.
You will be responsible for leading the design for a wide variety of initiatives and contribute to our North Star vision and strategy for the future of the app. You will iterate on concepts amid shifting landscapes and priorities, while continuing to pursue the highest level of excellence in attitude and craftsmanship - you are a hardworking problem-solver, you live for the challenge, nothing is impossible for you. What will you do?
Sketch, prototype, create pixel-perfect interfaces and original, eye-catching visual designs Create simple to complex, scalable visual patterns / systems that extend across the experience Execute against Brand and System guidelines Use research and data to advise your design solutions Confidently defend design strategy and rational used to create solutions in leadership reviews Think holistically across the experiences and domains Work closely with product and design partners to ensure visual consistency and brand alignment Breathe life into static designs with motion / interaction and prototyping capabilities Play a critical role in executing on the vision for the future of the Xfinity app Contribute to the design system as needed Engage and facilitate discussions and workshops Requirements:
Maintain a deep knowledge of our Brand & Product design guidelines Have a deep passion for technology and love for creativity - stays up to date on latest breakthroughs, trends, tools. Understands the Design Thinking Process and regularly puts it into practice Ability to design locally, but think holistically across the experience Ability to execute using pre-existing assets and create stunning original content Experience working with design systems, grids, accessibility standards, etc.
Experience in mobile application design for native OS's (iOS/Android) Experience with industry standards for building user interfaces Expert skills in Sketch, Figma, Adobe Suite, Keynote, Other related programs Knowledge of Abstract, C4D, Principle, Framer, Origami Respect and promote inclusion and diversity Do what's right for our customers, the user, the experience, and each other Assesses a product's positioning and role within the online organization's sites, products and services. Develops and writes interaction and functional specifications. Reviews competing products and recommends design solutions that differentiate the organization's products from those of competitors.
Develops new research and tests theories that lead to alternative, leading edge design solutions. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
