ABOUT THE ROLE:

The main goal and function of the Regional Employee Health & Benefits Sales Leader is to work closely with Leadership to develop and implement MMA Southeast Region's long-term strategy for the Employee Health & Benefits Practice. The Employee Health & Benefits Sales Leader will exhibit effective leadership dynamics with analytical and decision-making abilities to provide direction, build a cohesive team, implement change and motivate others to succeed. This Leadership role accepts responsibility to ensure that MMA Southeast Region's strategic business plan objectives are accomplished.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Works alongside Producers in the field, helping to originate new business and continued growth through networking, cultivation of Centers of Influence, prospecting and leveraging existing MMA Southeast relationships.

  • Maintain long-term, high-quality relationships with carrier partners. Monitor business placed with carriers in order to leverage carrier programs that enhance the level of service and support MMA Southeast provides our clients. These programs may include increased access to underwriting, additional carrier account management support, more competitive rate structure, access to carrier's senior leadership team and additional reporting. Oversees sales activities to ensure that all client placements are first and foremost in the best interest of the client from a cost, contract and service standpoint.

  • Identifies and communicates emerging industry trends, issues and market intelligence to Producers, clients, team-members, and Leadership to drive growth and retention.

  • Makes recommendations to improve efficiencies and increase cross-sell opportunities.

  • Demonstrates the ability to think strategically in dealing with complex insurance issues.

  • Institutes effective employee development procedures which address training, processes and procedures, E&O avoidance, continuing education opportunities, recruiting, hiring, on-boarding and introductions to MMA resources and capabilities, and partnering with HR Leadership to address any disciplinary issues, when appropriate.

  • Builds and maintains strong, effective business relationships with other practice leaders of MMA Southeast and MMA, including Marsh/Mercer colleagues for resources and shared best practices.

  • Ensure that all Employee Health & Benefits department activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal regulations and laws governing business operations.

  • Develop and maintain a professional image of MMA and MMA Southeast to clients, associates, shareholders, insurance industry contacts and the general public.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, BS in Business Administration and Master's degree preferable.

  • Minimum of 10-years of progressive group life and health insurance industry experience with the ability to command credibility in a brokerage/healthcare environment.

  • Minimum of 5-years of management experience and developing people.

  • Ability to travel MMA Southeast Region and beyond with overnights, as required.

  • Active in high-profile community involvement.

  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be familiar with Microsoft products including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Thorough knowledge of employee benefits carrier products and ability to remain current with all regulatory issues affecting the Employee Health & Benefits practice, state and federal mandates and provider plan changes.

  • Demonstrated track record as a Manager, Producer or Team Leader in developing a consultative sales platform and account management of the +100-employee group segment.

Applicants must live in the Metro Atlanta area and be able to commute to the office at least 3 days a week.
