We are looking for an SVP of Marketing who is driven by creating new, innovative marketing ideas that challenge the status quo and disrupt the beauty world. This person will be responsible for leading the creation and execution of innovative, integrated and cost effective 360 marketing plans to drive sales, energize consumer engagement, and build brand awareness. You will serve as the key strategic lead, idea generator and main marketing contact to internal and external functional partners and key channels of distribution. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of working closely with brand founders, influencers, celebrities, as well as building meaningful collaborations that drive sales and consumer engagement.
Leadership and guidance of the full array of marketing needs:
Develop and manage overall Brand Marketing Calendar and 360 marketing campaigns that support product launches, hero SKUs, monthly/quarterly stories, email acquisition and other business objectives
Develop and manage all strategic, integrated marketing activations, including but not limited to:
Strategic Sponsorships and Partnerships
Social Media activity
Content Strategy, including video
Key Blogger/Blogger insight and outreach
Developing unique and compelling marketing and social programs for Sephora, Ulta, Salon Centric and other key retail accounts
Develop and manage brand and store events and personal appearances
Develop compelling, disruptive GWP's, influencer mailers and other swag as needed that meet budget expectations
Develop all product positioning and product, web, social and other copy, to ensure brand voice is consistent
Identify and manage innovative strategic partnerships that drive growth and engagement and align with our brand and objectives
Analyze data, new trends and insights and generate ideas on how to translate into ideas for the brand
Collaborate with Sales, Digital and Creative teams to develop synergy in campaigns and calendars, and ensuring differentiation between channels
Develop measurement tools, establish KPI's and benchmarks for measuring impact of marketing efforts in order to determine campaign effectiveness. Report monthly results and key learnings to leadership team and stakeholders
Ensure all stakeholders (including planning & inventory) have access to calendar, receives regular updates on additions or changes and understand their role for all activity
Manage and allocate marketing and social media budgets.
Provide leadership to direct reports: coaching, development and strategic/tactical direction; serve as a mentor and role-model to team members
10+ years of experience in marketing and/or brand management. 3 - 5 years senior level experience within prestige beauty required
Demonstrable experience in leveraging influencer and social content for digital marketing impact, using tactical spending approach for high ROI
Strong history of working closely with brand founder in all branding aspects, especially product innovation and consumer engagement
Proven track record for building and executing innovative, sales and buzz-generating go-to-market launch plans
Related college degree; some wholesale and social media experience required
Effective relationship-building skills; professional savvy and organizational agility to leverage partnerships across the organization to get work done
Experience developing innovative marketing plans with clearly defined objectives that heavily leverage strategic partnerships and digital and social mediums to delivery effective marketing messages on a global scale
Well-developed understanding of and relationship with Sephora North America a huge plus
Strategic thinker willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life
Excellent communication and brief writing skills and the ability to motivate team at kick-off
Proactive problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate obstacles and also quickly generate alternate solutions/ideas and change course as needed
