General Summary:

As the Sr. UX Designer for KEEN Footwear, you will be empowered to build and evangelize a mobile first user-centric philosophy around design and research for our global digital business. Through research and competitive benchmarking, UX prototyping, a focus on improving shopping patterns and pathways, and blending it with atomic design structure, you will ensure long-term vitality and scalability of our digital platforms. As an integrated partner to our brand creative and digital teams, you will advocate on behalf of the consumer and articulate the needs of the fan in all aspects of product and brand execution. You will build upon our existing research and brand positioning goals of our target fans and define detailed persona-based archetypes to drive advocacy and focus throughout future UX innovations. You will find creative ways to capture the voice of our fans and translate their needs into small, iterative improvements; all aimed at delivering an experience that aids in reaching our commercial goals. Your passion for digital story telling paired with your desire to build an award-winning user experience, will allow for our brands to reach their full potential in the digital age.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively develop new UX methodology and process for a mobile first modular design pattern with reusable responsive web templates

  • Build a strong understanding of our global brand, including: positioning, target consumer groups, competitive landscape, and regional fan nuances and needs.

  • Partner directly with our digital brand creative teams on product marketing, brand marketing, and audience-based communication campaigns to ensure that UX structures and user-centric thinking is applied and optimized for final delivery and measurement.

  • Build relationships with each of the regional teams to understand their needs, how the local fan shops and interacts with our brands, and how we can deliver value on a continuous flow.

  • Identify and inherit business problems or consumer frustrations and translate these needs into UX approaches and solutions.

  • Embrace and pioneer atomic design patterns (or equivalent modern design philosophies) and modular design methodologies in partnership with our engineering team to ensure quick speed to market with a high degree of repeatable quality

  • Be an Agile Scrum evangelist within our organization and help drive all aspects of the user experience and engineering partnership throughout the sprint process

  • Identify key stakeholders throughout the organization that provide subject matter clarity and expertise that can be used to continuously improve our digital experience and maintain strong relationships with those individuals

  • Effectively capture the voice of our fans (on our website, through our fan services department, in our Garages, and across the partner landscape) to advocate on their behalf during sprint planning and prioritization processes

  • Identify and manage experiments that drive improvements to User Experience through key performance benchmarks

  • Find both formal and informal ways to gauge fan satisfaction (user testing, user research, observation, and various other methods) to continuously represent the pulse of our customers

  • Build and maintain a roadmap of short-term focus areas and communicate the rationale for their priority and impact on driving fan enjoyment, top-line revenue growth, and building an operationally sound business

  • Drive rapid prototyping methodologies to ensure internal alignment and find opportunities to test hypotheses early and often

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • 5+ years in a User Experience role or Digital Design equivalence at a software or retail company

  • 5+ years of work experience creating storyboards, wireframes, interactive prototypes and information architecture deliverables

  • Mastery-level understanding of eCommerce pattern design, web layout, benchmarking, and style-guide driven development

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong experience managing an InVision implementation from prototyping to stakeholder approval to development hand off. Including Sketch files, InVision DSM, and InVision application

  • Strong experience building a managing a style guide and module asset library for both end users and various lifecycle stages

  • A strong portfolio you can demonstrate mobile first design, lifecycle management of assets, and deviling functional requirements to Development partners

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and javascript

  • Strong, clean visual design sense

  • Ability to influence, educate and progressively iterate in a collaborative environment

Key Relationships:

This person will need to work successfully in a cross-functional environment partnering with merchandising, marketing, engineering, and creative to successfully evaluate and optimize the end consumer experience.
