Sr. Underwriter/Underwriting Manager

The Senior Underwriter or Underwriting Manager underwrites and manages a diverse book of private company Management Liability business, including Directors & Officers, Employment Practices, Fiduciary and Crime; manages and implements marketing to Chicago and Midwest regional brokers; executes LMM regional budget and strategy for growth and profit while adhering to all underwriting guidelines.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prospects new business targets; develops strategies to procure new business

• Forms and develops new relationships as well as maintains and strengthens existing relationships with brokers operating in Midwest LMM Region

• Manages personal book of business including new lines, renewals, and cross-marketing of product lines within AXIS

• Reviews accounts and obtains appropriate authority before quoting/binding.

• Meets established divisional servicing objectives related to quote turnaround, policy issuance, phone management, renewal management, file maintenance, and documentation

• May participate in projects at request of management.

Required Education/Training & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred
• A minimum of four to eight years of experience in executive liability underwriting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

• Proven marketing abilities and established relationships with brokers in the area

For this position, we expect to offer a base salary in the range of USD 140K - 160K. The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors, including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
