Key Responsibilities as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Sr. Technician at dnata catering, an innovative catering company, your role is vital in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. You will be responsible for monitoring and implementing various food safety policies, procedures, and protocols to guarantee that all food products meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations. Your creative problem-solving skills will be put to use as you assess potential risks, conduct quality inspections, and develop strategies to enhance overall food safety practices. Your smart and analytical mindset will enable you to identify potential areas of improvement, implement corrective actions, and continuously enhance the quality assurance program. Overall, as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Sr. Technician, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the reputation and success of dnata catering by ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality food to their valued customers.

You Will

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Operational inspections daily and take action where needed.

  • Ensure operations fully comply with applicable regulatory requirements from US FDA, USDA and State and local authorities.

  • Verify calibration of thermometers and scales used in production and receiving in accordance with the HACCP plan.

  • Verify all HACCP documentation is completed by cooks, assembly clerks, and receiving clerks are done.

  • Work with QA Manager in the Development, Implementation and Maintenance of Food Safety (HACCP) programs including employee training, document control and program auditing. Champions the ownership of Food Safety and Food Quality programs to all plant personnel.

  • Assist in external audits, work with Ops team, implement and monitor corrective actions to all observations and findings.

  • Conduct ongoing training sessions, floor briefs educating associates on hygiene, cGMP, FDA recall, foreign matter risk.

  • Participate in HACCP team, halal committee, mock recalls and traceability.

  • Verify the calibration of scales on the production room floor in accordance with procedures.

  • Assist in integrating good food handling procedures and HACCP requirements into production's daily routine.

  • Assist in keeping an up-to-date binder of labels of all food products used in the facility.

  • Responsible for conducting label review to assure ingredients of our products are correct.

  • Conduct internal audit of processes, ensure recipe and specifications adhered, SSOP and SOPs are followed.

  • Review floor specs to ensure that they are accurate and being followed.

  • Perform Microbiological testing on ingredients and finished product as required by product specifications. Microbiological analysis proficiency testing will be required.

  • Implement all Corrective actions / Preventive actions.

The salary for this position is $34.00 an hour with weekly pay, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training

You Have

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in food science or biology preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of experience in the food industry.

  • Food production knowledge. FSMA and GFSI scheme knowledge a plus.

  • Must be computer literate.

  • Prior experience with HACCP requirements

  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must have good communication skills.

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security

Work environment:
