About this opportunity

As Sr. Technical Product Manager (TPM) Digital Solutions, is a unified upstream and downstream product position responsible for leading & managing the end-to-end development and global commercialization of Align's doctor facing digital diagnostics initiatives, systems, and products. Your creative, business, analytical thinking and understanding of human behavior will drive your need to fully define and understand the opportunity space first before you conceptualize the product, create requirements, and lead the team to the design solutions. Our ideal candidate will manage the entire doctor experience for all related software and medical device products, with the goal of enriching the doctor experience using the Align Oral Health Suite by driving adoption of digital workflows and differentiating from the competition. You understand that any new technology solution needs to solve a customer's problem, have a well thought out user experience along with being supported by well-defined processes and rounded up by a stellar service offering.

This high-visibility position will work with and lead a cross-functional team in the designing, planning and execution of new initiatives across the entire digital product mix from inception through launch and post-launch monitoring, tracking, and analyzing business results to ensure fulfillment to plan. To succeed you need to be motivated by putting your customers first; you understand what the customers need; and you do not rest until it is delivered. You are detail-driven, with a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills. You will need to stay current with the fast-growing digital dentistry marketplace and maintain a thorough understanding of emerging competitive offerings.

In this role, you will…

  • Become the product expert for the Align Oral Health Suite and diagnostic digital portfolio and lead the innovations that drive doctor and staff adoption.

  • Own your diagnostic digital products, from Ideation, business case creation, VoC, and user experience, and requirements generation to testing, delivery, roll-out and maintenance including all regulatory requirements.

  • Act as the outspoken 'champion' for new digital innovations internally, drive excitement, and rally stakeholders across global and regional organizations. Nurture formal and informal relationships with regional teams, KOLs, and the Align field force.

  • Develop and maintain intimate knowledge of the practice workflows that relate to a doctor's diagnostic and treatment planning.

  • Maintain an awareness of the competitive landscape and actively seek to stay current with new competitive innovations and digital offerings.

  • Work cross-functionally to develop and maintain roadmaps for product lines and initiate the review of new ideas and the pursuit of initiatives.

  • Work hand in hand with architecture and enterprise engineering to create scalable solutions and drive messaging with marketing, sales, and other business partners.

  • Clearly articulates and clarifies detailed business requirements that are intended for engineering and user interface design teams to build new software.

  • Use your technical knowledge to work across various stakeholders and business functions to identify, define and deliver end-to-end technical business solutions that meet the product needs.

  • As the business stakeholder, collaborates with engineering teams to review designs, prioritize features, clarify scope, and negotiate trade-offs as required to meet the product needs.

  • Guide teams through changes in priorities and milestones for your projects.

  • Assist the engineering and scrum team during regular ceremonies: feature review, grooming, sprint plans and demos by being the voice of the customer and communicating the value behind each product and prioritization decision.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify project objectives, scope, dependencies and risks for projects.

  • Assist in identifying risks and leading mitigation strategies, communicating to teams and stakeholders.

  • Ensure quality and completeness of the finished product by participating in user acceptance testing, ensuring that acceptance criteria are met.

  • Mentors and provides leadership to peers, and junior team members across the organization.

In this role, you'll need …

  • At least 5+ years of experience in Product Management.

  • 8+ years of experience with software engineering including development lifecycle from conception to delivery.

  • Experience in the Medical Device Industry with technology-based products, web-based products, or software products.

  • BS/BA required in a technical discipline, preferably in a software engineering field. MBA preferred.

  • Experience developing roadmap strategy and definition; Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs for a product.

  • Broad technical breadth and depth including familiarity with web services and software development processes both in a regulated environment and outside of it.

  • Multi-tasking, someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, can juggle multiple projects at once, while solving for the highest priorities first.

  • Customer focused

  • Strong communication skills (writing, oral, and presentation)

  • Solid team player with the ability to excel within a cross-functional team environment

  • Strong project management skills and ability to demonstrate and assert leadership

  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels in an organization

  • Self-starter that shows initiative, takes action, and maintains ownership

  • Thinks strategically and uses sound judgment

Work Schedule/Hours

  • The Ideally, the candidate will be located in Raleigh, NC with up to 30% travel, both nationally and internationally

Primary Location Base Salary Range: $176,200 to $206,200 USD

Base salary ranges are a guideline used to determine appropriate pay. Placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically. For field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable commission plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
