Sr Technical Designer, Woven Bottoms & Outerwear, Beyond Yoga

In September 2021 we joined Levi Strauss & Co., one of the world's largest brand-name apparel companies and a global leader in jeans wear. Beyond Yoga will operate as a standalone brand within LS&Co. LS&Co. will provide resources to help Beyond Yoga achieve its goals of brand building, store opening, category expansion and global distribution Beyond Yoga's Product Development team is growing and looking for a Full-time Sample Coordinator.

This position will be responsible for Technical Design for all woven categories. This role partners with Product Development to tracking samples and manages fit comments for woven bottoms and outerwear from Proto through PP stage. It will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Design.

About the Job

• Partner with Design to develop silhouette, fit intent, proportion, and construction details for all woven bottoms and Outerwear.
• Review Design requests and recommend reference blocks and construction techniques specific to the execution of Woven Bottoms and Outerwear; maintaining fit consistency.
• Lead and facilitate fit sessions for woven categories and adjust fittings as needed to ensure fit sessions are productive.
• Provide accurate specs, straightforward fit comments, detailed photos, and recommended solutions in fit comments for all product stages.
• Quickly identify construction issues or quality concerns and communicate to cross-functional teams with recommended solutions.
• Possess strong technical knowledge and an understanding of patternmaking to enable clear communication with vendors.
• Ensure timely communication of fit comments and ability to track key development milestones.
• Partner with factories to review fit sample requests and answer questions promptly.
• Perform competitor research continually and fully understand the Beyond Yoga customer.
• Support & develop technical design talent
• Attend meetings with overseas partners outside of normal business hours
• Experience in insulated Outerwear is a plus.
• Overseas travel may be required.

About You

• Exceptional knowledge of woven bottoms and outerwear construction, fit, and finishing and manufacturing processes.
• 8+ years' experience in technical design roles
• Degree in apparel design, patternmaking, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Experienced in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
• Must have PLM and/or PDM experience
• Possess the ability to handle multiple seasons and work with a sense of urgency.
• Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize based on deadlines and updates in deliverables
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must have physical ability to use and dress full-size Alvanon form for all samples received.

This is a hybrid position based in our Culver City, CA headquarters. You will be expected in office 3 days per week typically Tuesday-Thursday. Note, time in office can vary depending on business needs.

The expected starting salary range for this role is $77,300- $120,000 per year. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, performance and business needs.
