Senior Technical Business Analyst
We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to participate in the Agile development scrum team Assessing business requirements, designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting elegant, scalable and reliable software solutions for our customers. This is a fast-paced and exciting role that provides opportunities to work on many projects.
This role reports to the Engineering Manager and works closely with Development, Architecture, Product, Customer Success, SassIO and Strategic Partners to deliver solutions that simplify the daily work life of the front line of education.
Responsibilities
Lead the research and design of complex software components
Perform analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of complex software translating them into actionable technical specifications for software development teams
Participate in defining process standard practices and procedures for adoption by the team and the Technology organization
Reverse engineer code, SQL, and functionality of old software in service, document the logic behind existing codebases and document requirements with migrating to new software
Write epics and stories
Author complex documentation and design sketches at a feature level
Participate in functional requirements review with Product Owner understand existing software functionality and identify areas for improvement or optimization.
Help others see that quality is critical to the success of a project and recognize and adjust when a task is becoming a time-sink
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment, focusing on the team sprint commitment
Represent the team in cross-functional meetings
Respectfully identifies potential "trouble spots" with other's ideas during discussions. Ask probing/clarifying questions during a discussion to ensure all ideas are vetted
Participate in knowledge growth opportunities and work with individuals/groups to facilitate knowledge share. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in business analysis and software development.
Qualifications
8+ years' experience in the following is required:
Confluence, Jira, GitHub, Office365, Slack, Zoom
Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning software and its use
Agile methodology
MSSQL Server, stored procedures, & SQL
8+ years' experience in the following is preferred:
C#, .NET Framework
Angular Framework
AWS Services (S3, EC2, Lambda, SNS, SQS, etc.)
California School Accounting
Integrations between Procurement & Supplier eCommerce Systems (cXML / Punchout)
