We actively seek a Sr. Technical Author, Manager resident. This role can be based anywhere in the US.

Position Summary

The Manager and Sr. Technical Author will be reporting to the Office of the CTO.

Individual will have progressive experience as both an IT Business Analyst and Technical Author, with broad technical experience across various industries. Individual should have a proven track record of meeting with business and IT leaders to understand their needs and create professionally documented IT Business Roadmaps. The work will include participating in technical discussions around Cybersecurity, Infrastructure/Technology, and both Oracle and SAP products. Individual will work with both clients and leaders within the Office of the CTO to document and publish client deliverables. Finally, the individual will also support the OCTO team in publishing industry-leading articles and assist with formal webinars and public speaking engagements.

The Manager and Technical Author will be part of a newly created CIO advisory team that includes advisors from Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Technology, and ERP functionality. The combined team will be responsible for delivering holistic in-depth 1-5-year roadmaps for prospects and customers that will maximize and optimize a customer's ERP and database investments. The Analyst and Author will work with CTO members to gather the information needed to publish professional material for use during our client engagements as well as for external publication of thought-leadership articles and presentations. Focus will be on technical advisory services to help in Rimini Street new sales and client retention for enterprise prospects and clients. This will be accomplished by solving issues, pain points, and addressing mission critical priorities as they relate to ERP and database infrastructure and overall IT technology and Cybersecurity roadmap related to the systems that Rimini supports.

Individual will have proven working experience in technical writing and in the creation of material used in supporting of consulting engagements. They will be able to deliver high quality documentation with special attention to detail and can quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable via text and pictures. The Manager and Technical Author will have worked in various IT organizations and have a good understanding of IT processes and familiarity with SDLC and ITIL framework.

The Manager and Technical Author will work with other OCTO members in creating webinars, white papers, detailed external research reports, as well as in supporting them during customer events, conferences, and media events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work directly with clients and OCTO members to understand and document their needs and create the required deliverables.

  • Assist with the creation and publication of the overall business technology roadmap for clients.

  • Understand the client's existing information IT framework and work with other OCTO members to documents gaps and design the required solutions and publish final deliverables.

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.

  • Obtain a deep understanding of Rimini products and services.

  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.

  • Engage in professional development to maintain continual growth in professional skills and knowledge essential to the position.

Assist with the creation the OCTO Advisory Practices

  • Working with the leaders from Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Technology, SAP and Oracle applications:

  • Create documentation templates that capture client's needs.

  • Create roadmap templates for delivery of a detailed 1-5-year technical roadmap.

  • Support the publication of methods and procedures used to analyze clients' current IT needs and gaps and create both short- and long-term recommendations.

  • Create and deliver comprehensive "big-4 level" analysis and recommendation reports for delivery to clients.

Deliver Value for Rimini Prospects and Clients:

  • Support the publication of OCTO materials needed to engage with and provide final deliverables for our clients.

  • Support the external publication of OCTO material - market collateral, webinars, white papers, etc.

  • Partner with Rimini Street client and prospect relationship owners to continually improve client and prospect outcomes.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.

Location

  • Remote, US

Qualifications of Successful Candidates:

  • 5+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales, consulting, or technical-related role engaging with large high-tech organizations.

  • Articulate and balanced in demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Held roles in Consulting and/or IT teams as both a Business Analyst and Technical Writer with 10+ years of progressive experience.

  • Excellent writing skills including technical writing, graphs, timelines, project plans, data analysis.

  • Good understanding of IT operations and technologies.

  • Experience in IT technologies

  • Servers, hardware, operating systems, Java, Middleware, desktop solutions, web browsers, databases.
  • Background in IT consulting projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of personal integrity

  • Produce clear and organized documents for stakeholders.

  • Develop protocols and standards with team members for the documentation of the project.

  • Maintain notational, stylistic, and organizational standards to unify communications.
