Job Summary
The Tax Senior Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting for the North America region of Huhtamaki. This individual will work closely with the Vice President of Tax, as well as other members of the finance and accounting team, to ensure that the company is in compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. This role will be the lead business partner for tax supporting the North America segment and leadership team in providing guidance on the tax implications of business activities and will have dotted line reporting to the SVP, Finance and CFO, North America.
Essential Functions
Collaborate as a member of Huhtamaki's Global Tax team and participate in Group's regional and global tax and transfer pricing matters and initiatives.
Contribute to business projects, including through the evaluation of possible tax implications of new business models, provision of expert advice on tax, transfer pricing and/or indirect tax matters to cross-functional project teams and supporting the planning and implementation of business initiatives.
Responsibility for US and Mexico tax reporting and tax accounting processes in local GAAP and IFRS.
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company's tax liability and optimize cash flow.
Manage the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns for the North American region.
Oversee the calculation of quarterly estimated tax payments and ensure timely payment of all taxes.
Manage uncertain tax positions and related income tax provisions.
Manage federal and state tax audits.
Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and make recommendations to management on potential impacts to the company.
Supports the negotiation of credits and incentives and assures compliance with any resulting reporting requirements.
Supports the North America region with tax implications and effects of mergers, divestitures and acquisitions, working closely with the Head of M&A Finance & Tax.
Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
Build key relationships with various business stakeholders in the North America segment to understand the broader business landscape and provide guidance and support on tax related matters.
Support the digitalization of tax processes and broader businesses processes that impact tax, including supporting the implementation of an ERP system.
Ensure appropriate internal controls over tax accounting and reporting processes.
Management and development of tax staff, including both direct employees and outsourced resources.
Job Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of tax experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
Experience with tax planning and compliance for multinational corporations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Experience with tax software and ERP systems.
Experience managing a team of tax professionals.
Environment
Hybrid work environment that mixes in-office and remote work to offer flexibility and support to employees. In-office hours are set by group Manager.
Work hours are usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but could require after hours and weekend work to complete projects on time
Travel as needed; up to 10%
