We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Tax Analyst. This position will be primarily responsible for preparation of the domestic and international tax compliance, audits, and other administrative tax activities and relationships associated with the corporate tax planning and complaicne of the corporation.

Job Description:

  • Ensures compliance with and adheres to all federal, state, and local tax laws.

  • Manages the retention and preparation of tax records, tax returns, and other required reports.

  • Develops & implements policies and procedures to coordinate the technologies and accounting functions to gather information needed to prepare and file tax returns.

  • Researches and analyzes new tax laws, proposed legislation and current systems in place for information gathering.

  • Prepares federal, state and local income tax returns, estimated payments and handles all state income tax audits.

  • Oversees and reviews preparation of sales and use tax returns and annual report filings. Handles all sales and use tax audits, including site visits. Advises purchasing agents and business analysts on important sales and use tax issues.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

  • US Federal, state and local tax compliance experience as well as state sales and use tax experience required.

  • Technical tax accounting research, preparation of position papers and preparation of returns and supporting documentation.

  • Strong MS Excel skill a must and knowledge of JD Edwards OW ERP system strongly encouraged.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, translate, and apply compliance of key and accounting precedents, policies and practices to protect the interests of the organization and individual employees.

Qualifications (Required)

  • 4 year Degree in accounting or business administration.

  • Strong interpersonal, organization skills and thought leadership with true ability to provide direction and influence to others.

  • CPA and/or Masters of tax preferred.

  • 2-5 years "Big 4" accounting firm experience preferred.

  • 3-5 years tax experience in a complex global work environment.

  • Must have insight, judgment and initiative to recognize areas for improvement of tax practices, policies and processes including cost management initiatives and strategies.

Special Skills:

  • Ability to interface with all levels of management and taxing authorities on highly business confidential information and practices.

  • Must maintain relationships with relevant division company management to ensure compliance to local tax regulations.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in an office environment.

  • Some travel may be required to fulfill tax-planning commitments.

NGIS is recruiting for a Hazards Analyst to join our team at the Lake City facility in Kansas City, Missouri. Position Summary: Hazards Analysis (HA) engineers perform hazards analysis studies for NGIS processes and products involving energetic, combustible, and flammable ingredients, propellants, and materials. These studies identify risk and establish safeguards to prevent ignition, injury, or damage, and define necessary actions to negate the hazard or reduce risk to acceptable levels. HA engineer works closely with Safety, Process, Tooling, and Design engineers and Operations to complete analysis effort. Additional safety support will also be required as needed in support of the Manufacturing Operations of Lake City. Performs complex process safety and/or hazards analysis engineering assignments in support of the development, testing and production of hazardous materials. Often functions in a consulting role or has HA project leadership role in important design, development and manufacturing projects. Primary role is to apply a physics based approach to risk identification and mitigation requiring considerable technical experience and ability. Prepares/supports Quantity/Distance analyses, concept, design and process hazards analyses, technical analyses in response to contract data item requirements, end item safety analyses, safety assessment reports, ground operations and support hazards analyses, engineering change proposals, provides technical basis for safety waivers and regulatory interpretations, deviations and explosives hazard classifications. Supports and defends critical review of the analysis effort in all review forums up to and including executive leadership. Will develop a working knowledge of MIL-STD 882, DoD 4145.26M, DoD 6055.9, OSHA and NFPA regulations. Basic Qualifications: * Requires Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics With 9 years experience o Four years of experience with at least two years in a manufacturing environment or support role preferably in a technical operations, manufacturing, or process engineering capacity. Or equivalent experience in a scientific/analytical laboratory setting. o Must have strong multitasking and problem solving abilities. Well-organized, works effectively with little to no supervision, maintains attention to detail and deals effectively with ambiguity. Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal).
