Job Description:

Siemens Building Technologies is currently searching for a Sr.Systems Specialist to support our Building Automation business for HarvardUniversity. Reporting into the Auburndale, MA office, the Sr. SystemsSpecialist coordinates, manages, implements and/or performs technical productsupport for equipment that has been newly installed.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with project management and engineering team to reviewjobs specifications and design needs.

  • Designs and creates all custom software programs, point databaseand graphics that are used with the BAS,

workstations and website interfaces.

  • Provides on-site support for the scheduling of contractors tocoordinate start-up services as needed. Construction trades would generallyinclude various mechanical, electrical, IT and equipment suppliers.

  • Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, andtroubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assignedprojects.

  • Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IPaddresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel.

  • Works with equipment vendors to coordinate communicationprotocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration to theirsystems.

  • Runs semi-complex reports to analyze system operation, workswith project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency withthe contracted scope of work.

  • Participates in final inspection and testing, assures customeracceptance, and conducts training for end user customers on system operations.

  • Provides Plans & Control System Documents to applicationengineering for as-built drawings.

  • Mentors other specialists who may need specific automationproduct knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-8 years' experience with Building AutomationSystems. Experience could be as a technician, installer/electricianof BAS systems or Owner/Operator.

  • Associates Degree or similar education or experience desired(High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is a minimum requirement).

  • Must have strong knowledge in HVAC mechanical and/or Electricalsystems.

  • Must have knowledge of computers and MS Suite software products.

  • Strong documentation and communication skills desired.

  • Independent, self-learner and high desire for high quality productsand systems.

  • Must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.

This individual will be responsible for participating in Building Automation pre-bid cost reviews and all turnover meetings throughout the lifecycle of the project. Revenue responsibility ranges between $3.0 to $5.0 Million dollars per year. The quantities of projects managed concurrently vary between 1 to 12 projects. In addition, the Project Manager develops project plans, monitors project progress, and procures subcontractors while maintaining project budgets for complex projects. Supervises, directs and motivates the project team during planning, estimating, design, installation, start up, commissioning, turnover and warranty of assigned projects. Ensures customer satisfaction during and at final project completion. General responsibilities will include: 1. The leadership of client meetings and development of contracts to finalize sales, and maintains positive relationships with all clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry contacts. 2. Completion of concept engineering, as well as creating full and complete project estimates, drafting written proposal responses and contracts. 3. Supervises directs and motivates the Project Team during planning, estimating, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, turnover, and warranty of assigned projects. 4. Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements. 5.
