Qualis Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Engineering SME to provide subject matter expertise for Air and Missile Defense and Ground Launch Interceptor Programs. This candidate will provide subject matter expertise in the areas of requirements maintenance, development, and sustainment, continuous process improvement, risk management, process analysis and development, and system hardware and software life cycle sustainment and development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze system, software, and hardware specifications and interface documents

  • Provide leadership for interdisciplinary teams as required to resolve systems engineering issues.

  • Requirements design, development, maintenance, traceability and management.

  • Provide SE interface to project management as needed including planning, reporting, and tracking status to completion for all SE tasks.

  • Perform Model-Based System Engineering to support the requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation associated with the development of complex systems.

Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance prior to start date.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with a team of SEs as well as function on multidisciplinary teams and function as a task lead.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills

  • Importing documents from various source files, creation and population of attributes, creation of link modules/link sets, and creation of links for various purposes e.g.: traceability, verification, analysis, and managing access to database

  • Engaging with Program Data Management and Configuration Management personnel to ensure processes are in alignment with program's tailored requirements

  • Experience drafting/authoring requirements and ensuring traceability from the top level through the lowest requirement.

  • Ability to ensure system requirements are aligned with all contractual requirements e.g. Performance Work Statement, Specification, SOW.

  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes and embedded systems

  • Expert with requirements development, traceability and embedded systems

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex material, both written and verbal, to teammates, management and customer representatives.

  • Ability to work under a deadline

  • Self-motivated to continually learn and improve

As a partner in NASA's next generation of space exploration, our jobs are literally history in the making.</p><p>Position Description:</p><p>The Software Systems Engineer will provide Systems Engineering (SE), systems requirements management, and Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&amp;A) support to the MSFC Integrated Avionics Test Facility (IATF) in support of the Space Launch System (SLS) Program. IATF spans across the Software Systems Engineering, Software Development, and the Avionics and Software Test Facility Branches under the Flight and Ground Software and Simulation Division (ES50). The selected candidate will have knowledge of complex systems engineering life cycle end-to-end development, ranging from requirements development, functional design, hardware integration, and requirements verification.</p><ul><li><p>Support the Systems Engineering Lead in evaluating stakeholder needs, characterizing technical VV&amp;A objectives, and utilizing system engineering practices to solve stakeholder issues.</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain detailed verification objectives and verification success criterion for NASA IATF requirements.</p></li><li><p>Support coordination of planning and activities required for requirement verification, software accreditation, facility certification, and system validation of hardware in the loop (HWIL) facilities.</p></li><li><p>Plan and manage verification activities required to verify compliance with IATF requirements during development, integration, testing and evaluation.</p></li><li><p>Support development of IATF requirements and verification products to define the design of multiple IATF products utilizing a common requirements baseline.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate technical interchange meetings between NASA and prime contractor teams to achieve IATF HWIL Verification, Validation, &amp; Accreditation (VV&amp;A).</p></li><li><p>Perform systems engineering tasks and assessments following NASA and MSFC standards to support the SLS Program through reviews, meetings, working groups, trade studies and development of key systems engineering products to support program milestones.</p></li><li><p>Communicate technical issues, risks, best practices and lessons-learned related to products, technical positions, requirement management, and verification and validation (V&amp;V) practices.</p></li><li><p>Develop integrated schedules and other tracking mechanisms to manage systems engineering tasks.</p></li></ul><p>Here's What You'll Need:</p><p>Qualifications:</p><p>Degree in Engineering or related field is required. Degree from an ABET-accredited university is preferred.
