The Senior Systems Engineer role is to ensure the availability, support and integrity of the enterprise Houston organization. This includes but is not limited to implementation and maintenance of on-premises Exchange email system, Office 365, provide support to operation units, and use of various management tools. This individual will provide technical guidance and consulting across the organization and be a contributor in strategic decision on the platforms.

  • Manage a unified communications platform which includes Exchange 2013, Office 365, Skype for Business, E-discovery, EMC SourceOne and MobileIron.

  • Use PowerShell to automate reports, tasks, and troubleshooting.

  • Perform installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning, through approved change management

  • Enter, track, and update incident and changes in ticket management system.

  • Provide tier-3 support for team members and other support teams.

  • After-hours support rotation and implementation, as needed.

  • Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company's existing messaging IT architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio.

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of end-to-end integrated systems for messaging platforms.

  • Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Perform routine health assessments on environments in response to business user needs.

  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.

  • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on servers, computers and databases in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.

  • 5+ years total Exchange administration experience and 4+ years of Skype for Business administration experience and 4+ years server design in a virtual environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or minimum 7 years of comparable experience

The position will be key in providing technical direction and responsible for building new Citrix and VDI platforms, expanding and/or rebuilding existing Citrix and VDI platforms and taking Tier 3/4 Citrix escalations from the operation/support groups. The Citrix teams work closely with supporting groups including, but not limited to networking, storage, developers, DBA's and project managers to define and implement Citrix systems, networks, security and client access. Essential Responsibilities: * Provides technical direction and hands on assistance in the development, design and deployment of Citrix and VDI environments from definition phase through implementation and Tier 3/4 support. * Assist with team member training and continually look for areas of improvement while providing a high level of service delivery and systems administration. * Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices and trends, as well as new developments for the technologies deployed/supported. * Participate in strategic planning and policy development/documentation. * Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion while remaining professional in stressful situations * Possesses knowledge of data privacy practices and PCI regulations * This position requires a strong background in XenApp 6.5 or higher (terminal service environment) * XenDesktop – the ability to manage, maintain and update; must be experienced working in a production/live environment * The Systems Administrator will perform daily system maintenance activities to maintain 24/7, 365 days/year system and services availability; activities include the repair, patching, fixing or replacement of existing hardware and software. * Knowledge and administration of VSphere Client 5.0 or higher; desire a VCP certification but not required * Knowledge of NetApp, Dell, and EMC would be a plus, but not primary duty Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related fields, or equivalent work experience * 7 years' relevant experience in Citrix enterprise architecture in related industry * 7 years' technical knowledge with security and system implementation following industry standards for Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, XenServer/XenCenter, Citrix Storefront, Citrix Studio, & Citrix Director * On-call availability * Experience Troubleshooting software/application issues with operating systems or third party products * Strong technical knowledge of most versions of Citrix up to 7.9/7.11 (primary focus on XenDesktop) as well as NetScaler experience * Technical knowledge installing operating systems, third party software installation, upgrades and maintenance * Eligibility Requirements: * Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
