Sr Systems Engineer

About this role .

NWEA is looking for a Sr Systems Engineer to join our Operations team. We need an individual that has experience in a 24x7 high availability production environment, managing both windows and Linux OS environments. They will be responsible for specifying, designing, implementing, maintaining and evolving NWEAs product operations infrastructure, ensuring that all client-based systems and data are operational and available.

For technical skills, this person must have in-depth experience with VMware ESX clusters, AWS/Azure familiarity, and an advanced level of automation/scripting (PowerShell preferred, Ruby/Python will be considered). Big pluses would be an individual that has experience with companies Infosec practices, hands on experience with puppet/chef, F5 load balancing, or some sort of enterprise backup solutions experience.

Must haves

Experience in 24x7 high availability production/sustaining processes, including lights out support and remote administration
Experience with design, installation, and configuration of VMware ESX Clusters
Enterprise SAN Administration
Experience in both Linux and Microsoft OS environments
Advanced level of automation/scripting experience (Powershell is preferred)
Familiarity with AWS/Azure

Education and Experience

Minimum bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Minimum 8 years related experience, with at least 4 years experience in VMware ESX and Enterprise storage (VMware VCP preferred)
Experience with Puppet Automation a plus

Responsibilities * Lead the global development for DTNA anti-lock braking systems for air brake and electronic brake controls on electric vehicles. Function as the expert on EBS at DTNA with brake blending, integrating advanced e-motor regenerative braking with foundation brakes. * Develop detailed requirements for features, systems, and components in electric truck braking systems. Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Warranty, IT, Purchasing, and other departments to collect and execute design and project requirements. * Work cross-functionally foreseeing or correcting issues with Warranty, Manufacturing, and Quality. Using problem solving techniques such as 8D, A3, 5 Why. * Improve competitive market position by keeping abreast of state of the art developments in the trucking industry and applying the new knowledge to designs that continuously improve work environment, systems, tools, processes as well as product cost and quality. * Deep interface with Product Regulation and Compliance to design a braking system that meets government regulations, restrictions, and codes.
