General nature /purpose of work:

This individual will be responsible for the planning and management related to all windows servers, VMware & Azure virtual infrastructures, and barracuda application firewall / load balancer for Development Business Services (DBS). Individual will implement strategies to ensure that virtual, software, and application technologies meet the changing business requirements in a cost effective and reliable manner. Implement Disaster Recover policies and procedures. Effective communications with internal staff and customers is critical. Provide technical solutions to Development Business Services development team. Incumbent will act as backup for database and systems administration. This individual will work along with other senior system administrators in the Department.

Primary duties and responsibilities; include degree of independent action, examples of internal and external contacts required:

  • Manage the server configuration, maintenance, software upgrades, routine system backups and recovery of data, analyzing and resolving problems associated with windows servers.

  • Manage Oracle 12C weblogic, forms, and reports application server with quarterly implementation of Oracle security patches across all Oracle Internet Application Servers (IAS).

  • Utilizing Oracle Enterprise GRID Manager server for all Oracle IAS server monitoring, capacity planning, performance monitoring, etc.

  • Manage firewall / load balancers appliances for access to vital business applications and monitor security intrusion prevention reports.

  • Manage DUO multi-factor authentication used to access all DBS servers.

  • Provide administration support to JIRA application and future cloud applications.

  • Provide administration support to Talend, BI Jaspersoft, and Tableau applications.

  • Provides technical and management leadership by participating in the design and implementation of new applications and system architecture.

  • Perform the role of project leader on various system architecture projects, which includes the supervision of engineers and programmers directly related to the projects.

  • Configures virtual network devices such as routers, switches, DNS, caching devices, etc.

  • Provide customer support for network, server and desktop systems

  • Perform system disaster recovery drills

  • Plan and implement backup and recovery of databases via Oracle RMAN tool.

  • Setup and configuration of remote access to all Oracle windows servers

  • Actively participating in periodic Oracle donor management system releases

  • Provide and configure Oracle developer tools for development team

  • Provide second level support for Oracle donor management system help and technical solutions to development team

  • Prepare web based documentation of procedures and policies

  • Participate in the replacement project of the Oracle donor management system

  • Mentor other staff positions within the DAS technical team

  • Writing new procedures, triggers, check constraints using PL/SQL

To what extent will work be supervised and by whom:

Limited supervision except to ensure that technology decisions meet criteria for support of other business units and strategic goals. Reports to the DBS Director of Information Systems.

VMWare, Azure Cloud, Dell Blades, Dell Compliant SAN storage, and Barracuda ADC & WAF

Special Skills/Knowledge

Require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information systems and/or related field of studies. 6 years of related experience required. 3-5 years hands-on experience in systems and network administration is also required. Microsoft Certified Server Administration (MCSA) for 2012, Management of SCCM, Oracle IAS & Database, SQL Server, MySQL, PL/SQL, Knowledge of following is helpful but not required F5 firewall, Splunk log monitoring, CEH or CISM certifications, Tableau, excellent written and oral communications skills

Responsibilities for the role will include but not be limited to: Roles and Responsibilities: * As an embedded member of the antenna sub-system Integrated Product Team, serve as the primary technical liaison between the customer/systems team and the hardware (HW) design teams * Maintain awareness of the key and driving requirements, how the design meets those requirements, and ensure that interface definitions are conformed to or updated proactively. * Assist the systems team in the creation and maintenance of requirements derived from the system level to the array component level including traceability to manufacturing process and screening test requirements. * Lead verification and sell-off planning as required for design updates / new technology insertions. * Maintain awareness of the factory flow and work with the HW design team to track and resolve any issues.
