Sr Systems Engineer I

• What are the main functions of this role? o Perform UX/UI design tasks in agile design sprints Develop interactive design prototypes in Axure RP to meet JIRA story requirements Present designs to team members at design review for feedback Provide feedback to other designers and developers on their designs Support development of style guide, and design in compliance to style guide o Test the functional system to verify design compliance o Write JIRA stories to resolve compliance issues o Prepare for usability testing by creating test within usability testing tool o Collect data at usability test events as needed (possible travel required) o Organize recommendations and requests from usability test events o Track completion of recommendations and requests o Prepare slides for customer events • How will the contractor's success be measured? (Quantifiable measurements): o Completion of JIRA stories • Culture (Will this contractor be working in a collaborative team environment or as an independent contributor?): Collaborative team environment. They will be a member of an active design team

Required Skill Sets: o Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Usability, HCI, HSI, Interaction Design, or a related field. o Two (2) years of experience in interaction, UI, and graphic design o Experience with user research and design analysis methods o Experience with design artifacts like Personas, Journey Maps, Cognitive Task Analysis, Wireframes o Experience with advanced analytics and data visualization o Strong portfolio demonstrating past design experience o Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks o Team player, able to maintain flexibility to get things done in a fast-paced, customer-focused, technical design environment o Excellent written and verbal communication skills o Experience with all aspects of the User-Centered Design process

Desired Skill Sets: o MS in Human Factors Engineering methods, particularly related to cognitive ergonomics and decision making o A current understanding of relevant government and international human engineering standards and practices related to UI design, and with the science behind these standards, (e.g., MILSTD 1472H, ISO 9241-110/210) o Compelling portfolio of design work that includes designs for complex systems or applications o Experience with Axure RP, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD and other design tools o Experience working in a multidisciplinary team that includes UX researchers, UI/UI designers, and software developers o Experience with modern software development methods as part of an Agile software development team o UI software development and implementation experience in CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Vue, React, Angular, etc.
