Sr Systems Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsible to lead proposal activities for electrical automation systems in Long Rolling business for the Sutton MA location

• Adhere to company operating procedures.

• Liaising with electrical companies and customers to meet the EA project requirements

• Liaising with the PT EA Regional Companies to meet the EA project requirements

• Organize and manage electrical engineering work within the department ensuring that established timescales are met and that all electrical equipment is fit for purpose, meets project requirements, has the appropriate safety standards and the selection of electrical equipment is cost effective

• Carry out electrical design reviews and participate in engineering design and safety reviews with the contract design teams for all contracts assigned

• Produce electrical specifications in accordance with the department's requirements

• Liaise with electrical suppliers to procure the most economic equipment to meet contract and customer requirements

• Ensure that all electrical designs, specifications, drawings and calculations meet the requirements of the standards for the specific proposal or contract

• Verify that electrical equipment schedules and control specifications meet the requirements of the project

• In conjunction with all other disciplines, ensure all necessary safeguards are completed, in order to prove that equipment is safe and reliable in operation

• Identify areas where product development will enhance our product performance

• Assist with installation planning and commissioning activities as required to ensure a successful completion of contracts

• Formally report any perceived enhancements which can be incorporated into the as sold spec for the purpose of limiting/restricting contract stage conflicts

• Support proposal team and development team

Education and Qualification

• Completed technical training in a relevant engineering field

• Several years of relevant professional experience in sales/proposal/engineering of complex systems

• Basic MS Office knowledge

• English - fluent in written and spoken
