Position Summary:

Develops technical systems architecture for innovative IT solutions including design services, technology standards development, research, development, proactive monitoring, and communication of overall project concepts and goals

in the Northwell Innovation Center and in future production environments.

Provides business technical leadership, and mentoring onprojects from beginning to end with emphasis on initial design, creativity, and cost effective problem resolution in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities Include:

Define/Refine Architecture guidelines for the Innovation Center including evaluations and creation of documentation from implementation to the evolution from Proof of Concept (PoC) to production.

  • Actively participate in installation, configuration of Innovation Center hardware/ software, multi-media, and wireless medical devices in both clinical and hospital environments.

  • Partner with Innovation Center staff during evaluations for successful outcomes.

Translates client's complex business requirements into innovative technology solutions that meet a client's drivers and requirements.

Define, research and document architecture guidelines for programs/processes and technical designs to meet long term business objectives for Northwell's Innovation center.

Performs Availability/Capacity/Performance planning in conjunction with system design activities ensuring reliability and scalability of Infrastructure investments.

Performs requisite research and development related to emerging technologies to identify beneficial technologies for the healthcare system.

Evaluates future concepts, products, partners or technologies; provides completed analysis of return on investment.

Provides technical consultation services on projects of highest importance across the company.

Provides leadership for complex/critical project activities to ensure product performance standards, quality and cost effectiveness.

Creates and/or oversees the design, modification and development of multiple IT infrastructure components.

Participates in formal networks (Insite/ARB) with key decision makers; ensures appropriate team members are involved in cross-functional projects and ensures technology standards and best practices are adhered to.

Provides leadership and mentoring to junior team members and affiliated teams, as needed.

Actively contribute and participate with installation and configuration of Innovation hardware and software.

Configure wireless technologies, mobile devices, including cloud and medical devices utilized in both clinical and hospital environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Science/Computer Science/Software Engineering/Business, required.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in Infrastructure systems engineering and operations within complex, large scale (1000+server) mission critical environments, required, including five (5) years experience in the role of Infrastructure systems architect providing design and documentation services in highly complex systems.

  • Excellent presentation and leadership skills, required.

  • In depth expert-level skills in multiple technology verticals including but not limited to:

  • Directory services (Active directory, DNS, DHCP, IPAM)

  • Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, ISCSI)

  • Server Technologies (Windows, Unix, Virtualization)

  • Network Technologies (TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, VLan technologies), required.
