Responsibilities

Job Description Raytheon IIS is seeking a qualified candidate to provide flight test support to the Global Hawk Ground Segment equipment at Edwards AFB. Candidate will Install HW/SW, checkout and debug HW/SW, design and develop solutions to problems discovered through installation, checkout, and use or system analysis. Determine root cause, develop, design and implement solutions or coordinate with customer and plant engineers to resolve issues. Interface with customers on short-term and long-term technical, operational, mission related and deployment requirements. Develop, coordinate and implement plans to achieve customer requirements. Analyze system performance vs. technical requirements, research and make HW/SW improvement recommendations.

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years HW/SW maintenance/troubleshooting/design skills for UNIX systems.

  • UNIX general system administration.

  • Direct experience on SUN and/or SGI workstations (or equivalent UNIX platform), Ethernet networks (Fast/Giga), routers and switches.

  • General knowledge of networking (servers/hubs/switches/routers) and TCP/IP.

Desired Skills:

  • UNIX coding/debugging; experience in ATM LANs, long haul links, RF links, VOIP, and data communications.

  • Experience with scripting, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Sybase and/or SQL

  • 4 years direct software development experience in Java, C/C++, and/or Python

  • UNIX shell scripting experience

  • System/Network administration experience in primarily Unix/Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments (experience with NIS, NFS)

  • ESXi/vSphere Virtual Machine Management

  • Solar Winds Network and host monitoring and management

  • Active Directory GPO and user management

  • Postgres & general DB management

  • HBSS Host Based Security System

  • Networking General and specifically the Nexus technologies

  • Win Server 2012

  • Vantage Vantage Viewer

  • ACAS

  • Cryptos KG75/175. RF and data links. Any familiarity with the Global Hawk Ground Segment a plus.

  • Experience or familiarity with HVAC, UPS systems, diesel generators a plus.

CLEARANCE: Existing SECRET CLEARANCE required.

TRAVEL: CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required.

WORKWEEK: Non-standard work week, overtime/weekends/shift work

Required Education (including Major):Bachelor's degree in a related field. May substitute 8 additional years of experience in lieu of degree requirement (total of 12 years of experience).

This Flight Test Tech Support Engineer position will be primarily involved with the AMRAAM® missile and may be required to assist with other co-located programs. Responsibilities include flight line missile / equipment preparation, flight test planning, execution, and data review of both captive carry and live fire testing. Extensive use of COMSEC equipment, AIS computers, and telemetry equipment is required for the position. The candidates will support test system maintenance and operation as well as hardware/software integration, and developmental testing tasks both in a lab and a field environment. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to modifying existing procedures to adapt to new test environments/requirements, contribute to the build, integration, and test activities associated with an end item, maintain accountability of hardware/software configurations and ensure completeness of all documentation. The selected candidate needs to be comfortable maintaining and reconfiguring munitions, monitoring weapon telemetry in a control room environment, performing flight line operations and communicating directly with both internal and external customers on a daily basis. Key Responsibilities: The selected candidate must be able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Work will be performed under only general direction and the selected candidates must be able to independently determine and develop solutions. This is a demanding, hands-on, lab and direct flight test support position. Personnel must be willing to work non-standard and extended hours under potentially extreme conditions. This position requires up to 30% travel possible. This will be mostly domestic but could include some international sites U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
