Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Lynnwood, WA is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support our world-wide virtual infrastructure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Job Summary:

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to operating systems, applications, server hardware, virtual infrastructure, backup and recovery, storage, and storage area networking. The Sr. Systems Administrator will support Windows operating systems, build standards, operating system patching, monitoring, alerting, security, patching, and automation. This position will work closely with the Application, Networking, and DBA teams to implement business objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and support of VMWare 6.0+

  • Implementation and support of Nutanix AHV

  • Implementation and support of Cohesity Backup Platform

  • Responsible for ensuring uptime of critical business systems and infrastructure through monitoring and timely remediation of critical infrastructure issues

  • Preserves data assets by supporting disaster recovery and back-up procedures

  • Supports information technology strategies, policies, and procedures

  • Identifies issues, evaluates trends, and anticipates requirements

  • Ensures adherence to all regulatory compliance processes and requirements, including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley, DFARS, ITAR and like regulations.

  • Responsible for performing routine operating system and application patching and remediation of any security vulnerabilities in a timely manner

  • Responsible for supporting the monitoring, alerting and automation infrastructure for critical business systems and infrastructure.

  • Identify paths for migration from legacy platforms to more modern platforms; perform migrations in support of strategic plans

  • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing infrastructure technologies.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Six (6) or more years of experience as a Systems Administrator in a medium to high volume environment

  • Experience in managing an enterprise physical and virtual infrastructure (VMware, Nutanix AHV) and HP Blade Systems

  • Experience administering enterprise Unix and Linux server environments running various applications, configuration, deployment, and upgrades

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of virtual infrastructure, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and networking technologies

  • Understanding of backup/DR planning and compliance

  • Knowledge of SOX/PCI or similar compliance a plus

  • Strong problem solving

  • Ability to complete job requirements within time constraints

  • Ability to train new employees to support systems as required

  • Ability to work effectively in an individual or team environment

  • Must be self-motivated and directed

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-oriented technical discipline or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IAAS, PAAS cloud services (Azure)

Employment Eligibility Requirement:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and not require Visa sponsorship to be eligible. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

  • Must be flexible to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed

Position Overview: The Senior Director of Site Operations is responsible for all site activities related to: (1) Planning and executing a production plan to provide high quality parts and on-time delivery consistent with external customer's demands and timing; (2) Developing and executing strategies and plans to reduce the cost of operations by driving down material costs, making transactional and manufacturing processes more efficient, and eliminating waste; (3) Upgrading intellectual capital within areas of control; (4) Continually upgrading the facility to maintain a safe environment where all employees are treated with dignity and respect; (5) Playing a major role in developing and maintaining a positive relationship with the bargaining unit (where applicable); and (6) Making significant contributions to economic value added (EVA) for the site and Crane Aerospace & Electronics. Responsibilities: * Coordinate the efforts of Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Materials departments to assure that adequate labor, material, and services are available to meet the sales forecast in a timely and efficient manner * Work closely with Quality Assurance to achieve high quality levels for parts and products * Drive Crane Business System initiatives through the organization and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Actively reduce the cost of operations by reducing waste in all processes * Establish targets and monitor all elements of manufacturing costs including labor, material, and performance to standards, set-up, process variance, lost time, scrap, and rework to assure they do not exceed projected levels * Control operating actual vs. expense budgets for all Operations' departments to achieve efficient facility operation * Control inventories to achieve forecasted annual inventory turns and/or target levels * Maintain overall cognizance of plans to reduce material costs, improve supplier performance, reduce purchased part inventories, and improve internal materials processes * Promote productivity improvement/cost reduction through methods, process, and tooling improvements, and the procurement of necessary machinery and equipment * Develop operations leadership team intellectual capital by providing challenging assignments, performing regular assessments of performance, and generating developments plans to assure all members are ready for promotional opportunities; Assure this approach is flowed down to all members of the Operations team * Provide annual plans to upgrade the facility and surrounding grounds to provide a safe working environment as well as a pleasing appearance to our customers and visitors * Provide sales forecast, by product line and market, personnel requirements, projected capital investment, inventory, productivity improvement projections, and associated schedules for the site's operating plan * Partner with Human Resources on ensuring alignment with site Affirmative Action Program. * Comply with all health, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations * Any other task assigned by supervisor or management Minimum Qualifications: Experience: * Ten (10) or more years of experience in various phases of plant operations applicable to assembly, manufacturing and test operations as well as managing the budget for the organization Knowledge: * In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing industry Skills/Abilities: * Proven accomplishments utilizing OpEx and Lean tools/methodologies * Strong administrative aptitude * Ability to delegate and hold others accountable * Outstanding leadership skills; ability to motivate, train, develop, and evaluate subordinates.
