Qualifications:

Sr. Linux Systems Administrator

We are seeking a Systems Administrator with experience in deploying, configuring and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a large factory environment. In this role, the systems administrator will work on a team supporting program initiatives in secure, isolated computing environments. The administrator will be expected to team with peers, internal customers, and management to strengthen the consistency and standardization of IT infrastructure and services achieve operational excellence and program success. While this position is an individual contributor role, collaboration and strong technical knowledge and skills will be essential attributes.

What you'll do:

  • Interface with internal customers, program security, and management teams in planning for, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting services and systems.

  • Install, maintain, and support multiple Linux-based servers on physical and virtual platforms in support of program initiatives.

  • Execute troubleshooting skills to address stability objectives both reactively and proactively.

  • Maintain a secure computing environment, including adherence to backup schedules, patching, virus updates, and regular security scanning and remediation.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What you'll need:

  • BS in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 8 or more years of related experience is required.

  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Valid Driver's license.

  • Must currently hold a TS/SCI and CI polygraph.

  • Must have certifications meeting DoD 8570 compliance.

  • Expertise in:

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain RHEL and CentOS Linux systems

  • Install and update Software packages from Repositories or local file system

  • Manage local users and groups and with active directory integration

  • Configure and manage services

  • Manage and Configure SELinux and Firewalld

  • Secure physical and virtual machines to DISA STIG requirements

  • Linux Troubleshooting

  • Must have strong documentation skills, organization skills, and the ability to interact with team members cross-functionally.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organization and project management/project coordination skills.

  • Preferred: RHCSA Certified.

  • Preferred: Experience in Scripting Languages (Python, Ruby, Bash), Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat IdM, Red Hat Ansible Automation, Database Applications, Docker, VMware Virtualization Products, Real Time Kernels, MacAfee Antivirus, and VEEAM.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment.

  • Traveling and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations will be required.

  • Office location will be dependent on program being supported.

  • Normal hours are M-F, 8AM-5PM, and system change hours are Saturdays and after hours.

  • On-call/after-hours support on a rotational basis.

Security Clearance:

Successful candidate will have completed a government national security clearance investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. *U.S. Citizenship is Required. Qualifications: Spacecraft Systems Engineer II Talented spacecraft system engineer who has the experience necessary to help leverage existing processes while bring new ideas and vision to our culture. Work with a talented team of engineers through the system life cycle of a program (conceptual, design/analyze, test/verification, and deployment/production) to ensure the highest levels of quality, performance and communication. Help Ball develop spacecraft solutions for the Nation – as a Spacecraft Systems engineer you will get to participate in trade studies (help influence the design), derive and manage requirements (what will it do and how will we know it will work), validate performance as teams turn concepts into hardware and software. What You'll Do: * Provide leadership in system engineering specific skills and technical activities (trade studies). * Understand and implement a design that is within scope, cost and schedule requirements of the mission. * Tasks within the team may include the following: * Help generate requirements, specifications, flow-down and perform/understand verification. * Help develop system concepts and interface definitions. * Support the analysis for system configurations and error budgets. * Understand and support system architecture trades. * Interact/communicate with other disciplines to obtain relevant information/knowledge needed at the system level (Comprehends subsystems that make up a system) * Help generate engineering documents including specifications, interface control documents, and test plans. * Support risk assessment and analysis. * Work tasks to completion and provide problem solving solutions. * Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. What You'll Need: * Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required, plus 5 or more years related experience in spacecraft systems, spacecraft subsystems, spacecraft test or spacecraft mission operations. * Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
