Visual Soft, Inc is seeking qualified candidates (US Citizens with active ACTIVE TOP SECRET clearance - a requirement on its Project with a Major Prime) for the following position for a federal agency.

Title: Senior System Administrator (Red Hat Linux) - ONSITE and REMOTE combination (1-3 days ONSITE and 2-4 days REMOTE based on performance of the candidate)Compensation: 1099 or w-2 with no benefits or full time employee- NO corp to corp

Position: Tier 3 or Senior Linux Systems Administrator- MUST have either a TOP SECRET clearance
ONSITE and REMOTE combination (1-3 days ONSITE and 2-4 days REMOTE based on performance of the candidate)
Location: on our project with a Prime for a classified federal agency, Adelphi, MD (we can also consider, if someone wants to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD)

Manage and maintain Linux servers in the customer data centers; work directly with customers as required to ensure their needs are met
Work in a rapid paced environment and work independently
Maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with other administrators, customers and engineers
Set up administrator and service accounts, tune system performance, install system wide software
Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
Evaluate hardware and software, with the goal of improving and increasingly automating operations
Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and maintain standard operating procedures
Apply security settings and other commercial security best practices

Required Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 10 years of overall related experience Additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree
Security+ is a MUST or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator is highly desired
Very good understanding of Linux Server design, configuration and administration
Scripting experience
Significant experience administering Linux servers
Experience with Puppet
Experience with AWS cloud or any other cloud would be a PLUS
System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration
System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools
Application of security settings/STIGs and other commercial security best practices for Linux servers
Experience with configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining virtual and cloud environments
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
Nutanix experience desired but not required

Our standard benefits include: Our standard benefits include 3 weeks of Paid time off (PTO that includes sick leave). Any unused PTO will be issued as a check at the end of an employee's anniversary with us. we also provide 2 floating and 8 public holidays. Floating and holidays expire at the end of every year of service of an employee. In addition, company will cover 50% of health and dental insurances only for all full time employees, however, dependents can be added at extra cost. Employee's health and dental coverage becomes effective after 30 days or first of the month after an employee completes initial 30 working days, we cover 50% for the employee's health and dental insurances. An employee has to finish all of your paper work for health and dental in the first 30 days of your employment with us. We provide STD, LTD and one time salary equivalent of life insurance at NO cost to all full time employees. All full time employees or w-2 employees with no benefits will be eligible to participate in company's 401k program after 90 days of employment with a company match of 4%, immediate vesting. In addition, all w-2 employees are eligible to be part of company's profit sharing, no employee contributions required. No Parking and Commuting expenses are reimbursed. the JOB is onsite work in a SCIF and NO remote work allowed.
