A Day in the Life
This position has the responsibility and authority to develop and implement short, medium and long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues, continuity of supply, and inventory in support of business growth. Supports business SIOP process and business execution of new programs and initiatives that include promotional activities, demand changes, new product launches, IT planning system and infrastructure, and network redesigns. Monitors key performance indicators, analyzes cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
Directly manages a team of supply chain planners to deliver customer service, inventory, production transfers, Internal Plants, and Contract Manufacturing/Original Equipment Manufacturers (CM/OEM) stability and cost down objectives.
Provide cross-functional leadership in the development of master production schedules, rough cut capacity planning and Operational SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning) Process.
Manage product launches and phase out assuring cross functional alignment, risk assessment, and contingency planning.
Coordinate Exec SIOP for therapies
Interface with business leaders including general managers on supply related issues
Develop and streamline improved inventory planning, target setting, and overall asset management.
Works closely with customer service and distributors to implement replenishment systems that ensure smooth material flow throughout the overall supply chain.
Works closely with operations to ensure appropriate supply chain capacity to support business needs including new site and supplier startups.
Analyzes the potential for restocking and sales of returned finished goods. Conducts configuration change review in conjunction with Quality Control in order to ensure obsolete/revised designs are not reintroduced. Authorizes necessary inspection, rework or scrap of returned goods, as appropriate to minimize inspection and rework costs, high inventory level, stock-outs and backorders.
Manages inventory management system database for accuracy by reviewing requirements and timely inputs for new part numbers, standard costs, and revisions
Prepares monthly status reports for internal plants and CM/OEM including product line activities, finished goods inventories, backorders, pending and received tenders, and new product availability for presentation and review by senior management. Recommends procedures and solutions for optimum production based on analyses performed on capacity.
Lead process improvement and problem solving initiatives and influence corrective action results, including CAPAs and SCAPAs
Contribute toward sector education of the role and value of the supply chain team.
Provide coaching and establish development opportunities for staff and peers
Maintains an effective organization; ensures that the department is appropriately staffed and employees are properly qualified and trained; manages functions to ensure that activities are performed in accordance with the Quality System
Ensures compliance with Quality System requirements
All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.
Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.
All other duties as assigned.
Travel requirement: 25% to 50%
Must Have Minimum Qualifications (to be considered):
7+ years with Bachelor's degree or 5+ years with masters/advanced degree in manufacturing planning, purchasing or expediting materials
5+ years of experience providing work direction and leadership to people and teams
Minimum 7 years of experience using MRPII, Demand Management, or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
