Coloplast has a new opportunity available for a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to join our growing company at our Minneapolis facility while providing assistance to various sites.

About the Department

The Quality Engineering department is responsible for monitoring and maintaining quality compliance and implement supplier improvements. You will support our ongoing supplier base and actively participate in our supplier management program. You will support quality deliverables for projects related to suppliers of finished goods, intermediates and raw materials.

The Job

  • Senior Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for managing all aspects of supplier controls for topical over-the-counter, medical device and cosmetic product lines including;

  • Supplier audit program

  • Supplier auditing

  • Quality agreement

  • Managing change notification

  • Incoming inspection sampling plans

  • Supplier Corrective and Preventive Action (SCAPA) investigations

  • Perform supplier documentation gap assessment to regulation (i.e. FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO13485)

  • Implement actions to resolve the identified compliance gaps

  • Support external audits conducted by regulatory bodies (e.g. FDA, Notified body)

  • Liaise with Procurement and Supply Chain to build and maintain supplier relationships

  • Travel up to 10% with regards to various sites

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS degree Engineering, Chemistry, Life Sciences or equivalent

  • 3-5 years' relevant experience in a supplier quality engineering role or 5-8 years of quality engineering experience

  • Experience in a pharma, biologic or medical device manufacturing environment

  • Manage quality agreements, SCARs, Supplier auditing

  • SCAPA or CAPA experience

  • Manufacturing in FDA regulated environment

  • Certified Quality Audit, Certified Quality Engineer

Preferred:

  • Experience managing finished goods contract manufacturing

  • Experience in process or cost improvement

  • Lead supplier feedback discussions

  • Validation experience

  • Product and process risk management experience

We are considering candidates for both Quality Engineer and Sr. Quality Engineer job levels for this position. You will be a key member of the Quality Assurance group for Coloplast Manufacturing - US. Put your skill set to use in a variety of projects that drive our mission of making life easier for people with intimate health care needs. Job Function Summary Monitor and maintain quality compliance within US Operations. Support quality deliverables for projects within US Operations. Recommend and implement process improvements within US Operations. In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality. Major Areas of Accountability * Provide quality engineering support to US Operations to ensure FDA/ISO compliance and act as first line support for quality issues. * Recommend and implement quality improvements and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and promote continuous improvement. * Conduct and document root cause investigations of non-conforming processes and products. * Facilitate Material Review Board meetings. * Participate in or lead Corrective and Preventive Actions as appropriate. * Review sampling techniques/methods/rationale and test methods to ensure appropriateness. * Review quality content in change control for products and processes. * Review and author validation documents and validate processes. * Initiate Change Requests to update documentation and processes. * Perform data analysis; write summary reports and other technical memoranda. * Maintain applicable QMS instructions. * Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications * Bachelor's degree, in a relevant science or engineering discipline. * Minimum of three years related experience in medical device manufacturing. * Knowledge of FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 820) and ISO standards (13485, 14971) and their application. * Experience with process validation, Change Control systems, sample size determination, FMEA, and gage R&R. * Knowledge of various statistical techniques (hypothesis testing, ANOVA, DOE, process capability, etc.). * Analytical problem solving skills. * Excellent data analysis skills and proficiency using statistical tools (e.g. Minitab). * Ability to successfully work within a team based environment. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities. * Effective computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications * Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) through ASQ. * Experience with continuous improvement, Lean six-sigma, or similar programs and techniques. * Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. * Experience performing internal audits. Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities This position will support Coloplast Manufacturing EHS Goals and Objectives: * Comply with company standards for environment, health, and safety. * Work in a safe and efficient manner. * Immediately report unsafe conditions or job hazards. * Report accidents, injuries, illnesses, near misses and property damage to management. Work Environment The majority of time is spent on the production floor. Requires the frequent use of a computer. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, and chemicals which are monitored and within acceptable OSHA levels. Entering clean room areas will require the removal of makeup and jewelry and the donning of clean room apparel. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
