Sr. Substation Engineering Specialist

Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., Sr. Substation Engineering Specialist (Multiple Positions), Lake Mary, FL.

Lead, manage and support design and engineering activities for High Voltage Electric Substation Development Projects, especially Gas Insulated Substations. Lead substation design team preparing documents and drawings, including one line, layout and sections, grounding and conduits design, protection and control schematics, panel layout, panel wiring diagram, bill of material and as-built drawings. Perform electrical studies to select and size electrical equipment.

Prepare electrical equipment specifications and review vendor drawings. Conduct substation site walkdowns and lead design / review meetings. Prepare substation construction bid packages and scope of work.

Provide construction support including resolving site queries through RFI and submittal process. Establish and maintain professional relationship with clients and partners. Serve as senior project engineer, performing in depth evaluation and alternative analyses to support project decisions and resolve unusual and complex situations.

Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines to augment project solution. Support Project Manager(s) with technical evidenced proposals as project issues arise with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers/vendors. Contribute to the development of new standards and specifications of electrical design. Support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, and provide cost estimates. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). #GTM #LI-DNI

Qualifications

Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 10 years of post-bachelor's progressive related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience with the following: Overseeing substation projects and design packages; Designing contingency and construction sequence plan to cutover system modernizations in existing facilities; Physical layout, and protection and control on client's transmission systems; Gas Insulated Substation technical specifications, design and construction; and interpreting and
