Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to manage fast-paced, technically complex projects in southern Florida. The incumbent will independently apply advanced engineering techniques, make decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represent the organization to resolve important questions or negotiate with key engineers and officials in other organizations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, design, modify, coordinate, and review structural engineering projects.
• Provide technical support during construction, responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.
• Prepare calculations for building loads (dead, live, wind, and seismic).
• Develop construction specifications.
• Determine member stresses and sizes using structural analysis programs and manual calculations.
• Design multi-story steel-framed structures for offices, warehouses, manufacturing, and mixed-use.
• Design concrete walls, foundations, and slabs for buildings, tanks, and miscellaneous structures.
• Generate engineering drawings.
• Review calculations and drawings generated by peers.
• Coordinate structural systems requirements with architects, HVAC engineers, plumbing engineers, electrical engineers, and process engineers.
• Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
• Execute projects of varying sizes, focusing on larger and/or more technically complex projects.
• Ensure the quality of design documents.
• Sign & seal drawings and calculations developed under your supervision.
• Reinforce a safety-focused and excellence-driven work atmosphere.
• Collaborate directly with clients to define project requirements and deliver solutions within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• 10+ years of experience in structural design.
• Experience with retrofit projects preferred.
• Required experience in providing construction support.
• Proficiency in RISA, STAAD.Pro, or Tekla Tedds software is a plus.
• Experience with Autodesk Robot is a plus.
• Experience in aviation-related structures or large commercial buildings is advantageous.
• Revit experience preferred; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Professional Engineering License required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective multidisciplinary project team collaboration.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
• Positive attitude and ability to foster a collaborative team environment.

Compensation

• Salary: $140k-$180k annually based on experience.
