SUMMARY

Reporting to, supporting and working under the direction of the Group Manager, Marketing, Americas Acute, the Sr. Strategic Manager, Acute supports the profitability of the brand by gathering market research and developing marketing strategies as it relates to product, price, promotion while guiding the positioning within the Americas market place. Ensuring portfolio marketing goals align with market share growth and profitability while overseeing sales performance and proper supply of product. Fosters and maintains effective communication with Channel Marketing Team, US Marketing team, Americas Sales, Sales Management, Compliance, Legal, Finance and Global Teams.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the effective management of the KCI portfolio of solutions for the Acute channel in their region

  • Including products such as:

  • Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) Portfolio which includes:

V.A.C.Via Negative Pressure Wound Therapy System

V.A.C.Ulta Negative Pressure Wound Therapy System

  • Inspires and motivates sales team to deliver annual revenue targets

  • Leads the development of strategic solutions and tactics for the acute market segment (hospital and private market)

  • Provides insight and market intelligence to assist in or complete financial forecasting

  • Analyzes market trends, updates market intelligence, and performs market research

  • Creates portfolio marketing plans detailing activities and programs to make best use of Acelity resources and investments

  • Executes sales analysis on portfolio performance and effectiveness of Sales and Marketing initiatives

  • Collaborates with Channel Marketing, Product Marketing and Scientific Affairs team on identifying and managing local and/or national clinical study opportunities

  • Responsible for management and distribution of product samples, marketing literature and associated budgets

  • Responsible for effectively managing portfolio marketing budgets

  • Responsible for driving strategic presence at related conferences

  • Owns the successful execution for all product launches within designated portfolio

  • Gain and/or solicit customer feedback on products and/or brand promotional materials

  • Prepares clinical support and response materials for RFP submissions

  • Inventory Planning works with planning teams to ensure adequate supply based upon market demands and forecasts

  • Responds and actions escalated daily customer and distributor requests regarding product support

  • Assists in developing pricing recommendations for various customers (distributors, GPOs etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned by Group Manager, Marketing, Americas Acute

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent judgment under minimal supervision

  • Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to self-motivate, multi-task and prioritize

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, demonstration and organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, detail-oriented

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced commercial environment with the capability of handling complex situations

  • Ability to work well either independently or as part of a team

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

(Minimum qualifications for the position)

  • University Degree Mandatory, MBA preferred

  • 6+ years experience in managing sales, marketing, and product management/or development working in a health care or medical device environment

  • Medical Device and/or wound care experience preferred

Monitor performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance, and develop and implement strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required. Acts as a resource to staff and internal customers as the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Subject Matter Expert. Provide direct and timely advise and information to the management responsible for the account, market area, or geographical region of responsibility in all matters related to HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) performance, compliance, trends, and concerns. Communicates all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to the responsible managers to effect timely and necessary corrections. Identifies opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services. Responses to client employee concerns regarding HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) matters.
