Storage Service Engineer to join our Network Operations Center.nThis is a contract position for our weekend shift, we are looking for people with SAN/NAS operation/support/troubleshooting experiences and skills and can hit the ground running. This is a support role with the following responsibilities:n* Resolve complex or critical infrastructure incidents and problems. Ensure all related incidents and problems are appropriately resolved.n* Lead efforts to analyze and resolve complex system/service incidents and balance the workload against incident priorities.n* Adhere to the NOC / Enterprise and Local change policies and ensure that you subscribe to one over shoulder requirement, when making incident changes in production.n* Support responsibilities include 13x3 weekend rotational support, troubleshooting, incident notification and resolution, problem management, post-mortem analysis, and root cause identification.n* Support a production environment running approximately 40+ 7Mode and C-Mode NetApp NAS filers, 60+ SAN switches, and 20+ San Storage Arraysn

  • Support internal enterprise-wide users: troubleshooting and providing problem resolution for NAS and SAN Storage environment.n* Build strong, positive relationships with internal team members, engineering teams, and field users in business offices and call centers.n* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.n* Provide focus and rigor around high availability incidents, driving the incidents which are user impacting, high profile and/or multi-application through to resolution, while communicating the status (outages and returns to service) to leadership.n* Perform trending and performance analysis on incident data to identify potential problems.n* Manage vendors relationships and ensure that necessary escalation documentation, as it relates to vendor support.n* Self-starter with strong problem solving skills and who has the ability to work effectively in a team environmentn

  • At least 3+ years of SAN (HDS, Pure) and NAS (NetApp) experiencen

  • Solid understanding of SAN and NAS storage technologies and protocols.n* Experience in troubleshooting SAN/NAS problems.n* Hands-on experience with SAN and NAS Storage systems:nSAN Storage Arrays: HDS VSP, G1000, Pure, EMC VMAXnSAN Switches:

    NetApp SnapMirror, NetApp SnapVaultnNAS Management: NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager, OCIn* Exposure to SAN Administration including zoning, LUN security, and HBA configuration.n* Experience with Sun/Solaris (UNIX), Red Hat Linux, and/or MS Windows Server 2008/2012n* Exposure in enterprise backup (Netbackup, AVAMAR) and data protection technologiesn

Preferred Qualifications/Skillsn* BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or MIS, or equivalent support experience in a large datacenter environmentn

The candidate should expect to make decisions and assess technical risks providing technical direction and guidance to other software engineers assigned to the project. Accountabilities: * Influential in the introduction of new software engineering technologies and instrumental in advancing software development within the engineering group. * Assume the software engineering responsibilities on a project being the technical point of contact with the customer. * Resolve technical conflicts to the mutual satisfaction of Moog and the customer utilizing software configuration management experience. * Code, develop unit test plans, and unit test new features and enhancements. * Ensure testing and quality of software prior to release. Here's what you'll need to be considered for this opportunity: * B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or similar scientific discipline and at least eight years related experience in Java, Java Script, C or C# programming. * IP and serial communication protocols. Binary and XML based protocol analysis and troubleshooting of communication issue. * Experience with wireshark and equivalent tool to analyze, develop, troubleshoot and diagnose IP communication. * Hands on working knowledge in: embedded systems board level programming, single board computers running Linux operating system, troubleshooting basic wiring issues, technical documentation/user guide writing for software and system. * Familiar with SDLC and engineering processes.
